Animal, vegetable, miracle

- I left my kitty with a prayer this morning. I read that animals left alone all day need special moments, so we have a prayer when I leave and a happiness celebration when I return.

- Yesterday's lunch in a restaurant gave me the opportunity to order something the waiter says no one ever orders: Hot Vegetable Salad. It arrived steaming and was delicious.

- Working on Collier Road has me in the car more than anywhere else. So listening to "Animal Vegetable Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver and her husband and daughter makes the driving so much better. Not only did the authors record the CDs themselves, but I now have a new resolve to visit local farmers' markets more often for locally grown food.

Good morning moon!

- When I turned onto Midvale Drive this morning on my journey to work, the full moon was perfectly framed between the trees on either side of the road. I got glimpses of it here and there during my drive.

- There will be a lunar eclipse tonight around 10 p.m. - I plan to take a glass of wine outside and watch it.

- It was serendipitis that I decided to take the streets this morning anyway. I would rather pass homes and trees than lots of cars.

Happiness on Friday

- Overheard at work: the owner of our company was holding his little granddaughter Lizzie in his lap. He said to her, "You know Lizzie, I really love you." She looked up at him and said, "And I really love Beverly." Beverly is her younger sister.

- Marcus is 74 years old and still comes to work here every day. When he passed some of the women conferring in the hallway this morning, he said: "Is this the Miss America contest?"

- Marcus is from Tennille, Georgia so we have much in common. He used to be Jeff Foxworthy's father's roommate at Southern Tech. My dad is such a Jeff Foxworthy fan that I am looking forward to telling him that.

Best, better, good

So I found a job. I am working for a delightful family owned business that handles commercial printing. Not sure if so much selling is my forte, but it does put me back in the account management arena again.

But OH how I loved that five months off from working. I wish that I didn't have to work! Not to be lazy, but I loved doing good works, exercising, etc. Loved it.

I would like to start posting again. It was kind of funny just now when I looked back at the posts from one year ago. How different life was then and the beginning posts sounded a little forced. Probably because I was so unhappy then.
