Morning light, lingering and a wink and a smile

- The time "falls back" to Eastern Standard and the morning light seems particularly fresh and vibrant on Sunday morning.

- The night temperatures turned crisp and inspired fireplace activity all around. The scent of wood smoke lingers in the air.

- Later at church, serving communion to a favorite elderly congregant who always sits on the back row, she mouths "hey dahlin'" and gives me a broad wink and a smile.

Yesterday was an incredibly gorgeous day as well here.

Makes me wonder what winters gonna be like this year.

Lynn said...

G -

Maybe winter will be gorgeous, too. Let's hope.

Did I ever tell you about me not knowing I could refill the wine serving cup when I was offering communion, and was putting but a trickle in those little plastic cups.

How come nothing that cute ever happened to me in church? :)

Lynn said...

Jannie -

You didn't tell me that before. How funny. :)

Riot Kitty -

This lady is kind of a kindred spirit - we always sort of laugh together without knowing what was funny. Or maybe life is just funny.

Yes it's turned a great deal colder here in the UK too. I love the smell of the all the bonfire smoke in the air too.

My partner sometimes gives out the communion in church and I always get a special grin or wink. :)

Joe -

That's nice.

Don't you just love the smell of a fireplace?

Mama Zen -

I do love that smell and the crackle of wood burning. I have gas logs, but live vicariously through others. :)

Cookie -

I hope you are feeling better, dahlin'!

I love love love walking through an autumn forest with changing leaves. My family hasn't been up in the mountains to see that. So thanks for the photo :-)

Mmm, fireplaces.

Some people have a knack of just making life more vivid and joyful.

Jewel -

Great observation - I think that is it. This lady is someone I always look forward to seeing.

A beautiful leaf-colors pic!
I'm getting in lots of early sunsets as I drive to work this week-
The elec-heat's been on here for almost a month already- the smokey neighbors all seem to have stoves-

I've been reluctant to put on the heat, but love to run my gas fireplace...
