- A beautiful day to finish packing up our family home. This is the right side of the house and you can see the "privacy" shrubs mom put in there on the side in the back yard. The next door neighbors kept kind of a messy yard and rather than say anything, mom just blocked it out.
- I vowed that I wouldn't bring anything else home, but bring it, I did. I think this frilly dish came from my great aunt's house. It's in my bathroom for now. The scalloped edges put me in mind of a seashell.
- My father retired from Nabisco and had a collection of antique cookie tins. This is one of them and I like how they put stray game pieces and marbles in it. So I'll keep it like that. :)
- This label in the inside of an old dresser drawer (off to a good home) caused a mini-meltdown. This was my father's drawer and my mother had occasion to make a loving label at some point. They sure did love each other - it's how I measure relationships now.

Oh #3 is so beautiful! I don't blame you for using this as your standard for relationships. You found a rare gem in that dresser.

The dish is beautiful, but the sticker in the dresser was a real find! Wow, how nice to experience again their love after they've gone.

I liked the first two and understand why you kept them - but number 3 - wow - that was wonderful to grow up and see.

My parents were both ill from 2009, so it's been an emotional rollercoaster - hard to believe this chapter is closing.

Your Mom knew how to be a good neighbor! Beautiful dish. I have an antique one I'm wearing out I use it so much to eat on. My Dad had old cigar boxes with odds n ends. Still have one somewhere-

The people next door are still the same family - only it's the daughter and her husband how live there now. Same thing lots of tall grass and junky stuff around. Mom worked so hard getting their lawn beautiful and green and just couldn't bear looking at that. We like them though - she came over on Saturday.
