- After reading somewhere that the peach crop is about tapped out for the summer, I stopped by the produce stand at the end of my street to buy some. You'd think a gal from Georgia in a state known as "The Peach State" could get some Georgia peaches, but these beauties from South Carolina will do just fine. I like how that one on the left still has the leaves on it. The tomatoes are from a client's garden.
- Photo taken of my kitchen window while watering outside plants in the dark yesterday morning. I liked how my fake lavender plant on the windowsill cast shadows on the window pane.
- I labeled this photo, taken with my iPhone, "Mishap" because it didn't really capture what I intended. This was in the 7am hour yesterday on I-85 south and there were ethereal clouds surrounding the tops of tall buildings in the distance. We had come to a momentary stop and I snapped the photo before we rolled again. Alas - you can't really see the buildings, but you can see the mileage on my odometer and that I need to get an oil change. :)
Last commute of the week today! I hope you all have a lovely weekend and find good things around every corner.
Update on Saturday. I didn't know about the morning's events in Colorado when I posted this. I just want to add that I am sure everyone is as sad about it as I am. I'm so glad we have each other and my heart truly goes out to the families of the fallen.

I'm making a peach and blueberry cobbler tomorrow. LOVE the angel on your counter. sweet. Today felt like a deeper glimpse into you private space. Happy Friday and get that oil changed. :)
150,960, I see it!! And looks like your RPMs are right where you want them to be.
Cute shutters on your windows, looks like they can actually shut.
Have fun at the oil change place, those places can be real hoots!
xoxo
We don't have Georgia Peaches but the famous peaches around here are Porter Peaches from Porter, Oklahoma. We see a lot of roadside stands now selling Porters but it's too hot to get out and look them over.
I see lavender!
Be nice to your car, have the oil changed soon. I agree with Jannie about the oil change places being real hoots!
Wait a minute... is that an angel or a flying monkey? hahaha

Yum - I'm thinking peach crisp.
It's an bear with angel wings that is holding a tray you could put your rings in, I guess. I've just always had it sitting on the kitchen sink.
Oil change - this weekend.
Jannie -
Yes - that seems like kind of high mileage to me - I've had the car more than five years now. It's a good and faithful car.
The shutters actually shut. I have plantation shutters on all the other windows, but got these cottage shutters for the kitchen originally so my cat could sit in the window and look out. On the windows with the plantation shutters - I just leave them closed and open the louvers to let light in if I'm there during the day.
I'll be going to the Wal-mart service center. They are the only place that will do what I say. I don't want the 16 point checkup or whatever most of those places push. I want an oil change and I'll tell them if I need an air filter. And I like them to check the air in my tires. That's it. :) The new thing seems to be trying to replace the cabin filter. That's happened to me twice now that other oil change places have taken out my glove box to get to my cabin filter and walk in the waiting area with it to show it to me. I hate that. My regular mechanic (who doesn't do oil changes routinely), says that should only be changed with the tune up.
xo
Granny Annie -
Porter peaches. I'd like to try one of those. It is pretty hot down here still, too.
I can't get anything to live on that windowsill and did have some herbs on there, but they were drawing ants, so they had to go outside. I found that fake lavender and thought it would be pretty there.
The good thing about going to Wal-mart for the oil change is that I usually walk around the store while they have my car in.

I saw a bumper stick once that said, "Don't make me get out my flying monkeys!" Love The Wizard of Oz. :) No - it's a bear angel.
Ha ha, yeah get that oil change sorted! I'm glad I'm not the only one with fake plants. :D
Love the leaves on the peach too, that's a rare sight, well here in the UK it is.
I hope your weekend is wonderful!
Better get that oil change. And I loved your lavender plants out by the kitchen. And I know those GA peaches are good - and you couldn't find any I guess. I love peaches too. sandie
Drive safe,
watch out for dragons,
have a sweet weekend!
Aloha to you from Honolulu

Have a great weekend, Lynn. Off on Vac-K for us! See ya soon!
If a Georgia girl can't get Georgia peaches, what hope is there for the rest of us?
Have a great weekend, Lynn!
TGIF! I just stuffed myself with tofu and sushi, but now I want a tomato.
Joe -
I have a fake ficus tree in my living room, too. Most people think it's real. I am pretty good with outdoor plants, but not indoor.
Sandie -
I didn't do an exhaustive search for the ones from Georgia, but the ones from SC are pretty tasty.
Cloudia -
So many dragons out there, huh? I am so sad about your kitty's passing. xo
lg -
I'll miss you - I hope you have a wonderful trip!
Mama Zen -
I know!
Riot Kitty -
Sounds yummy - I only like the vegetarian sushi, which I think you would probably eat, too.
Now I want some peaches but only got the canned ones. I've tried to grow lavender (this year too_ a gazillion times n found out it's difficult to keep them going until the flower stage (2 years). I haven't had flowers yet... Love the oil smell, n not allergic to it! My ca r always needs an oik change too.
I was away for a couple days n didn't hear about the movie massacre either. So sad when folks think violence against strangers is an answer to their problems!
Snaggle -
My live lavender plant didn't make it, so I switched to fake. :)
Yes - I'm so sad for all the people affected by that tragedy. I affects all of us really.
No peaches in Georgia? What next? No Alamo in Texas?
That's a pretty colander of fresh produce. I like those leaves on the peaches too!
We heard about the Colorado shooting as we drove home from vacation. We had been living in a vacuum that week and the news upon entering the "real world" was so sad.
FB -
Now I'm sort of covered up in peaches and naturally then saw a sign pointing to a stand with Georgia peaches. :)
Leonora -
I'm blessed with produce right now.
Yes - it's a terrible thing. I have no words.
Lynn,
The picture of your kitchen window and the light cast on the screen...I think that's what it is? Anyway, it like a "what do you in this picture?"
When I clicked to enlarge it, I saw a face at the top the white light. I imagine if I studied it more, I'd see even more things. It's a very interesting picture:~)
