- A news report last night on NBC that for a country that started out not wanting to be ruled by royalty, we sure do love British royalty now. It's true - I got up very early to watch both Princess Diana's wedding and that of her son. And I loved it when they showed William and Kate doing the "wave" in the stands of an Olympic event.
- My coworker, aka "the cupcake queen", finds a double stacker cupcake cake holder on sale at Macy's and brings it in to show. I say I'll be more excited about it when it is filled with cupcakes, preferably those chocolate ganache ones she makes. Maybe today. Here's hoping...

The hummingbirds will send a scout and hopefully it will be able to report to the rest that the new owners put up the feeder. That was a wonderful gesture on your part.
I am amazed by Queen Elizabeth but she's about my extent of royal watching. I never got very excited about Diana and Charles or Kate and William.
Let's see a picture of the cupcakes if the arrive today. We're staying home too (as usual) and looking for my son and grandson for the weekend. That's a treat.

How neat to get a hummingbird pic without trying! n so nice to look after your parents hummingbird pals. They do have a busy list of daily visits needed to fuel all that flapping. I like the planter design.

BBM has one of those holder trees- they never do stay full long!

I really sat down to post about the beautiful planter and then noticed the hummingbirds and the rest flowed out. The new family is a single mom and her 10-year-old daughter. The real estate lady (who is a friend now) said they walked in and said, "This feels like home." Her mom and dad were with them and the real estate lady said she overheard him say that you can tell what kind of people had lived there. Lots of happiness was in that house and I'm glad someone else can love it now. It was making me sad - sitting empty for two years. And the little girl is beside herself with excitement over all the room.

I hope they put that feeder up - I'll meet the new owner at the closing on Tuesday and plan to tell her more about the house.

Thank you - it was an impulse really. I had stopped at the Ingles grocery store outside of town to ask for boxes and went back in to buy bottled water. I spotted the feeder and nectar and got it for them then.
There were no cupcakes - everyone but me is on a diet. :)
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend with your son and grandson. I was a couch potato yesterday.

And it's been three years this weekend they moved to assisted living. (Dad was fine, but mom wasn't and he wouldn't let her go alone. And then he passed away three months later. I still can't believe it.)

Fueling the flapping - love that phrase. I never thought of that, but I wonder what it's like to be a hummingbird. Do they ever settle down?
Dad asked me once where I thought they went in the winter, so we looked it up. Costa Rica. Can you imagine how beautiful Costa Rica is in winter with all those beautiful birds?

I agree - I like the way William has handled himself with such grace, but love Harry's rakish attitude toward life, too. :)
I think William and Kate are the best thing that have happened to the Royal family for years!
