Random flowers, random meetups and a good Saturday

- Some random happy flowers en route from the mailbox to my front door on a sparkling morning.

- Running into a friend I haven't seen in nine years in line at the credit union on Saturday morning.  Then - one of The Real Housewives of Atlanta's husbands at a volunteer workshop.  On the way home, the husband/wife attorneys who fired me downsized me five years ago, at Trader Joe's, and a beloved former coworker and his partner, also at Trader Joe's.  I talked to them long enough for the attorneys to exit with their purchases before I did.  I didn't want to ruin my happy Saturday vibe.  :)

- Crisping up my Wednesday night hand cut fries in the new toaster oven and having them with a little ketchup, while making a salad to take to my single friends' dinner Saturday night.  We sure can cook - it was awesome - and my throat is still scratchy from laughing so much.

Thank you to Scarlet for awarding me The Liebster Blog Award - I'll have to think about that one and do an appropriate post soon.  Thanks Chica!

Sounds like a nice gathering and glad you had friends to talk to at Trader Joe's so you could avoid your downsiders.

Scratchy voices from too much laughing are always a good thing!

Laughter, friendship, and good food. Is there anything better?

Hand cut fries---mmmm.

Would that work with sweet potato fries?

Running into people is a tricky business. I do my part to avoid some as you did. (I wonder if people try to avoid me!)
I love #3. Laughter is GOOD for the soul!

Such pretty flowers!

French fries are good too.

I'm glad to hear that you didn't let bad memories get you down. :-)

So glad that you didn't allow the downsizers to dampen your day. And a scratchy throat from excess laughter (and sore cheeks from smiling too widely) are always good.

I think those are Lillies like my Mom used to have. Sounds like you had an "old home" day when the past came back up in droves- Maybe you just know alot of folks! Good to see the old friends, n hope the Lawyers regretted letting you go- I can't imagine how anyone could be so unkind to someone as sweet as you.
I live to use my little "convection" oven. My elec stove needs an overhaul, n is too expensive to run anyway. Homemade fries are the best. Don't have a fryer here to do those plus been too hot until past few days finally in 70's.

Sage -

Yeah - he called me into her office (she had left for the day) on the Friday afternoon before Labor Day and did that. And then wanted to hug me! And I only got two weeks severance after working there three years. I'm not bitter though! :)

Dana -

It was a good day. I love busy Saturdays like that.

Joanne -

Absolutely.

FB -

Nothing better, my friend!

Susan -

I think so - they weren't as crisp as the first time around, but still tasty.

Leonora -

I can't imagine anyone wanting to avoid you.

Sandie -

I do have lots of friends and acquaintances. Thank you - you are a loyal friend for not liking those lawyers. Me either. :)

Riot Kitty -

Yeah - but you know that's not me.

I had to really do some parking lot avoidance, too. And the funny thing is - I know where they live - they don't live near that Trader Joe's either.

Sparkling Red -

I loved those lilies.

The Elephant's Child -

We are all so busy that we had to do a lot of catching up. It was a delightful evening.

Snaggle -

You are sweet to say that about me. I really liked that job, but it probably wasn't the best fit for me. At any rate - they said it wasn't performance - they just needed to let one head count go and I was the least in seniority.

Glad you got those fries!! Never thought of the toaster over for crisping-up, good idea. My poor toaster oven hasn't been used in a long time.

Good vibes you give out, Lynn. Proud of you!

Jannie -

You give out plenty to good vibes yourself, my friend. :)

Mama Zen -

Truly fun.

I hate running into villains from my past and acting nice.

Thanks for filling me in on the toaster oven story. I should have been hanging around with you this week. I have trigger finger again and my middle finger on my left hand is permanently extended until I get a shot on Wednesday.

Granny Annie -

Oh my - so you are giving everyone the finger right now???

Villains they were - I still feel a bit guilty for ignoring them, but on the other hand, not really. :)
