Carpe is the second-person singular present active imperative of the Latin verb carpō, which literally means "I pick, pluck, pluck off, cull, crop gather, to eat food, to serve, to want", but Ovid used the word in the sense of, "enjoy, seize, use, make use of." .......That was fun to look up. :) All that said - I'm glad I could seize some time with my friend and catch up.

Sounds absolutely divine as long as bugs didn't help seize the meal. Bet that was what the torches were for. Ah, you only have 11 1/2 hours to go before a relaxing weekend:)
I love outdoor dinners at the many cafes in South Beach and around Miami. Yours with the drumming and torches sounded perfect!

Something easily done - torches in a pot. My neighbors downstairs light those torches and stick them in the ground - I'm always worried about them falling over.
