- Another view of the mountains / farm area of Clay County, North Carolina. I got out of my car and walked back to this spot in the road at which you could see that little church in the background. A moment of Labor Day peace.
- Hearing neighbor Travis quietly singing on his back porch during the 5am hour.
- Our newest family member has reportedly found his lungs. His very stoic dad has found a good way to calm him is by humming while he holds him.
May there be beautiful music in your life this weekend, my friends. I hope your weekend will be peaceful and good.

What a lovely shot! And point 3 is very good :)

I would find it very comforting to hear a neighbour singing quietly to himself.

I would shoot my neighbor if he sang at 5 a.m.!

My niece saw a program about a "baby whisperer" who told about different ways to calm a baby, other than swaddling. One is to hum in their ears, as Curtis does. Or to make a long shhhhh noise at their ear. She said he immediately quiets down when she does that. The baby whisperer pointed out that it's so noisy in the womb that they are used to body noises and outside noises.

He's a respiratory therapist and works three days in a row in 12 hour shifts from 7pm to 7am. So on the nights he's at home - I guess he's up all night. He is such a nice guy - he used to blast music and would text me to ask if it was too loud. I was pretty cool about it if it didn't go on too late. I don't hear it much anymore - so I think he's just using headphones. Hence the quiet singing along. :)

Thank you - and you, too.

I'm up anyway - I heard him while I was pondering what to post. :)

Thank you, my friend. I get so much happiness and peace from your posts, too.
The happy baby is pure joy to me ears and brings a smile to my face, no matter where he/she chooses to exercise their lung capacity.
Fantastic image of the mountain too.
Who is singing at 5am and who is the newest family member - have I missed something?
Such a lush n pretty place there by the little church. Labor Day isin't very peaceful here. 5 am is a good time to sing- this week it's my dinnertime- been working late.
Congrats on the new baby addition! A new music fan! I remember having to run the vacuum to get one to sleep, n taking the other for a drive. Good luck to the quiet parents!
Been playing Simon n Garfunkle on tape in Little Truck, n always sinfg along. Have a good week-end

I live in a condominium building and that was my downstairs neighbor Travis singing (quietly.)
My younger sister's oldest daughter had her first baby, making my sister a most delighted grandmother. And he is my first great nephew - I already had a great niece, who is 2 1/2 years old. And a cutie.
Snaggle -
My friend Kris used to put her baby on the running dryer (in her carrier) and that make her sleep.
wonderful view of nature
