The swing's calling, view from the cook shed and Lucky

- Back to Standard Time and the morning was beautiful at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.  The back porch of an antique shop in Lilburn, Georgia after my walk in the nearby park.  The sign on the white framed chalkboard says, "Wherever you go, always bring your own sunshine..."  "The swing's calling!  Come sit awhile."

- Late Friday afternoon, I settled down on the back porch to talk to my sister in northern Florida, as we so often do on that day.  She answered and said, "Could I call you right back?  I want to snap this picture of the pasture with my phone."  Of course she could (and this is it above).  She and her husband are keeping their "granddog" Lucky while my niece is out of town.  Lucky is blind now and must be walked on a leash.  This has enabled my sister to stroll around the farm and witness the light shining through the Live Oaks.  She also loves looking up at the stars at night when they do their pre-bedtime walk.

- Lucky was living in a foster home with one of my niece's friends when my niece met him.  He had belonged to a woman with a terminal illness and she wanted him to have a good home.  My niece adopted him and he has become a beloved member of our family.  He's Lucky indeed.

It is my hope to have a lovely porch swing setting like this one day. We have so many incomplete projects I'm not too confident right now. The pasture scene is lovely. Lucky is lucky! And I cannot help but feel the family has been blessed by him as well.

Granny Annie -

(((HUG)))) So good to see you!

A porch swing is great and I love this spot because it's not even an entrance - it's where they take out garbage, load things in, etc. I like it when a beautiful spot is created "just because."

Yes - Lucky is a part of our family. He loved me on sight - I suspect because his first owner was a middle aged woman, too. He is also deaf now - I like it that Amanda has adapted to his handicaps. And he has taken to playing with one of the cat's balls - flipping it up in the air. And there's a little stuffed cow that he carries around now and sleeps with. So sweet.

Lucky is so cute! How sweet of your sister to take care of him and your niece to rescue him!

I am always struck again at how beautiful the light is at dawn and dusk every year as winter approaches. Lucky is a neat looking dog!

Tears in my eyes for the love of Lucky. Happy tears for him.

Wonderful to get the play-by-play on the second pic. Felt I was right there listening to you and your sister's conversation.

DeLIGHTful swing area. Those country colors are charm to the max.

What a cute dog Lucky is!

Sorry I haven't been around Lynn, I really didn't get to my computer much whilst I was away, and when I did I only managed to get onto blogs that don't take too long to load as I was using my little netbook.

Lucky by nsme, and lucky indeed. Though I have no doubt he brings love to the entire family.
And, what a wonderful spot for a swing. I might become fossilised there.

Hi Lynn - he sure is lucky and I love the fact your sister is taking time out when she walks Lucky to look more closely and slowly at life around her .. the photos are glorious ... but the swing calls - with a good book .. cheers Hilary

Joanne -

He is the cutest. I always love to hear his nails scuffling on the hardwood floors when Amanda brings him in - he never gets left behind.

Sage -

Me, too. And I loved that my sister was having a kindred spirit moment.

Bianca -

Thank you.

He is so sweet. I have a number of photos of him - there's another in the pool, floating on a raft. :)

Since he's blind, he has a way of looking out of focus when he's looking your way.

Jannie -

Thank you for those sweet tears, my friend. You understand - being such a pet lover yourself.

And I loved those country colors, too, and may go back to swing. :)

Joe -

So cute. :) And I'm sorry my blog takes too long to load - must be all the photos.

Riot Kitty -

I spotted it when I was leaving the other day. So pretty.

The Elephant's Child -

Me, too. :)

Hilary -

I love that, too. And yes, a book. Perfect.

I have a porch swing at my house. I don't know why I didn't sit on it all last year. I guess I was too tired to swing. I've gotta change that. The love of a dog is a love beyond words. Lovely little Lucky. :)

Bringing Sunshine with you is a nifty sign. What a pretty pasture shot-
Lucky is lucky not to have to stay at a kennel. The resilience of disabled pets is amazing. Walking dogs can be relaxing. I used to at my Moms decades ago.

When it's warm enough, you should get some fluffy pillows to wedge around you and sit on the swing. I love a porch swing - my grandparents had a big front porch with a swing and I liked to sit there.

I'm glad she got to stop and smell the roses. :)
