- Just a short distance from my home is an area known as International Village, that includes a wonderful place that sells imported pottery -
AW Pottery. This area near the entrance must be a serene place for meditating (even with the hustle and bustle of CDC buildings behind it.) The figure looks as if he is wearing a bandaid, but it's a price sticker.
- There must be a mile of pots like these, and at some point, I lost my friends for about an hour while they contemplated which of the zillion pots would make a nice fountain for their back porch. I amused myself by watching planes coming in for a landing at nearby Dekalb Peachtree Airport (click to enlarge and you'll see a plane there.)
- My purchase - for about $7, I got four of these trays you put under pots, so there is less dripping for the neighbors below when watering plants. And they are beautiful.
- An oasis - serene and beautiful - amid the noise and haste.

Oh I would love this pottery place! I also like the green trays you chose. The color reminds me of old, oxidized copper.

I got three of those green colored trays and one cobalt blue - the only one that color I saw. They were covered in chiggers (red bugs, as my mom called them) and when I asked if someone could wash them off before I put them in my car, the owner snapped her fingers and instructed an employee in a mixture of Chinese, Spanish and English (or so it sounded to me) to wash off the "animals!" Cute.

There's something so lovely about handcrafted things...they are so individual and so lovely!
I would love to go to that pottery shop and dream of a fountain in a pot. You find the most wonderful spots in your area. :)

They were all so beautiful. We saw pots like these on our trip to Seaside, Florida in March and the owner of that shop confided that they buy them in the Atlanta area. Nice of him to say that. We had no idea this place was there.

"...contemplated which of the zillion pots;" I would get lost there, too! I 'had to' pick out a plant for Mother's day and I narrowed it down to 3 choices and was in a quandary for about an hour! Oh my!!! Love the color of the trays you picked to go under your plants!

I've been spending the last week in garden centres and bought some pots and a bronze sphere, but the places I go and are no where near as big as the one in your photo! Wow. I'd be looking at stuff all day!

That does look beautiful. Funny, I have had a few random plants sprout in my pots, and I realize it must be seeds from the neighbors' plants upstairs. Kind of neat.
That oasis of serenity and beauty won my heart. Though I loved the pottery too. We have many, many pots and choosing the right ones for particular plants has become (another) obsession.
The statue looks good in that spot. Wow, so many! I don't know how to decide which one there either- I see a Chinese newspaper under your tray. My poor plants all got water-logged in storms over the week-end- Had to cover them for frost last night-

Sometimes I think sprouts in plants come from things the birds drop as they are flying over. I have plants out front that randomly sprout things - I posted about that one "weedy" pot once that contained a pine tree seedling and a maple tree seedling. I finally got rid of them before they split the pot open.

That's wonderful. I'm partial to terracotta pots, but have a few plastic pots that are colored terracotta that I probably should get rid of. I think I know just the place to go for replacements. :)

I love the first picture. Talk about serenity. I need to study this picture and absorb it's calmness...I'm about to leave on a trip and I hate to travel:~)
