- The house was originally owned by her mother-in-law, a lovely woman who left her stamp all over it. Local pottery, many whimsical touches, books to read if you did not bring your own.
- Memorial Day will be a time to reflect on the past year and look ahead. I hope those of you celebrating this holiday have a wonderful one.
I was looking through old posts trying to find a favorite photo of the river, and ran across this post from May 27, 2010. It's funny, but nothing at all has changed for this annual visit that I am leaving for later today. I have three books that I can't wait to read and I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation. There will be no internet available, so I'll catch up with blogs on Monday. I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

Hi Lynn .. looks a wonderful place to be able to take a break in .. and nothing like a book to enjoy by the rippling brook ... cheers Hilary
Have a blessed rest, it sounds like the perfect place for it.
Oh my, that looks so peaceful and tranquil. It sounds like you'll have a wonderfully restful weekend.
Have a lovely three day weekend away!!
Have a fabulous weekend, Lynn! Hope mother nature is in a kindly mood so you can enjoy every second!
Oh yeah, no school Monday. Thanks for reminding me, whooohoooooo.
3 books sounds ideal! I am actually reading a book these days, called "The Unwind." Kelly recommended it from her school reading list. And it's good.
Have fun in paradise this weekend, you deserve the break.

You are in for a wonderful R&R. Be careful in the holiday traffic.
I am very jealous of that back porch. Enjoy the view, the serenity, and the relaxation. :-)
That looks like a gorgeous place to go! sandie
What a magical place to stop, to rest, to read. I won't say 'have fun' because how could you not? Which three books did you take away?
I come from the blog of Betty Manousos, Cut and Dry, and I love your corner, so if you do not mind, I become a follower of your magical space.
Hugs and kisses.
Enjoy! that looks lovely.
What a beautiful view. Enjoy your weekend and those books. I'd like to know what you're reading.
Ahhh...a vaca w/o internet. Just like ye olden days when you actually had to do stuff to keep yourself entertained.
Have an enjoyable holiday weekend.
I hope your long-week-end getaway is peaceful n full of good food, company, n times. You're so lucky to have that place. I only get about 2 week-ends off work per year, no holiday ones- I miss those long breaks! Safe travels home-
Hi Lynn...I can just picture myself sitting there overlooking the water! What beautiful, tranquil spot it must be.
I hope your long weekend was thoroughly enjoyable...and relaxing.

Very light reading this time - Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich (a fun series), Front Porch Lights by Dorothea Benton Frank, and Vengeance by the Mystery Writers of America (and the Edgar award winning story by Karin Slaughter.)

Absolutely - hugs to you!

I enjoyed, indeed. :)

See above. Now I need to get to the rather dense sounding book group book... :)

I found my hands itching to pick up my iPhone on Friday night, only to remember that there was no AT&T service down by the river. I did answer a couple of emails on it when I went to the park to walk and I played by word on Words with Friends. :) I don't think it hurt to be away from the internet at all.
Snaggle -
I am so lucky. I hope you get some rest soon, my friend.
Lee -
Yes, it was lovely!
Joe -
Yes - off to work in a bit. :(
