- So wonderful that someone thought to leave a space for this square pot when they were putting in these steps.
- Something going wonky with the outside air conditioning unit leads to a nice, long catch up phone conversation with the repairman's wife (both friends from church.)
- Open windows, gentle rain, dusted off fan (its hum making a nice background noise for sleep) - making what could have been a hot night, relatively comfortable. It reminds me of childhood visits to my grandparents' homes during the summer.

And now there is a new myster, Lynn - which came first? The steps or the pot? :)
I love rain at night. It is soothing. And I love when something reminds of sweet times.
You know I LOVE the vase - what a beautiful color! sandie
Love love that pot cut into the stairs, too! Design sense!
lg (Hope you are well, Lynn!)
What a great pot! Neat use of space.
That is a beautiful Pot! And, perfect for that space, isn't it....! Like it was made for it!
Clever idea with the pot.
I wish we got hot nights here in the UK. :D
What a wonderful place to put the pot. I too love rain at night (or anytime really). I love the smell of the countryside after rain, and the bath it gives to the greenery.
I'm not sure if that was intentional or just a bit of luck...the position of the pot, is what I'm referring to.

I'm betting on the pot!

I agree.

I am well and hope you are, too. Miss you.

I think so, too.

I love things that are off symmetry like that, too.

I wish we had cool nights like the UK! When I visited England one beautiful June, everyone kept apologizing for the "heat" and it was 70 degrees! If only...
Elephant's Child -
Everything looked greened up after that rain. I had just put some basil in a pot and it looked a little yellow green, but now it's just green. :) I think I feel a caprese salad coming on...

I think intentional, but maybe luck. Who knows. :)
It's always neat to find those little nooks and crannies filled with wonderful little plants & trees.
I really like your pic elements composition- so much stone/mosiac puzzle shaping going on. It does look well planned!
I'm actually too cold for fans today here. Hope your ac woes are solved quickly, before another heat wave sets in down south there-
Hi Lynn .. I love the vase and the fact that it literally just fills the space, yet stands up proud in its colour and occupant of leaf .. lovely.
Then your quiet sort out .. re dusting, getting the plumbing sorted etc ..
Then the reminders of childhood .. gentleness of rain, smell of the earth, comfortable bed and deep sleep .. cheers Hilary
Talon beat me to the question. I had a "chicken or the egg" moment as well. That vase looks like it has stood the test of time.
Lynn you are something. I do not like to get in long chatty conversations when I'm trying to get business taken care of. Wish I could relax and enjoy life the way you do.
I do often feel a comforting memory in sights, sounds or odors from the past.
I love to sleep with the windows open!

So true!

Wish we'd have a little cold wave again - I was just out watering plants and it's so humid already this morning.

Thank you - yes, a quiet sort out and it worked out OK.

She is a dear friend that I haven't spoken with much lately. She has been with me through a couple of out patient surgeries that took up many hours of her day, so I always suck it up and chat with her as long as she wants when she needs to talk.

It turned out to be nice, but I was glad to have the AC back on when it was fixed. :)
