- You may have to click to enlarge to read this, but last night at my volunteer organization, someone had written across the top of a yellow scratch pad, "PLEASE TEAR PAGES CLEANLY, LEAVING NO SHREDS. THANK YOU." The word "please" looked like an after thought. What makes this a good thing? It made me laugh out loud. :)

- A once-a-week guilty pleasure - Carmelita Bars. I'm supposed to be on a diet, but about once a week I pick up a couple of them from the cookie bar at yes, Whole Foods (I'm a frequent visitor to their hot food bar.) Not too sweet, and very chewy. I love them so much. A more organic recipe can be found in the link under the photo, but here is another, much quicker recipe from Brown Eyed Baker. So good - I may try making them to take for Thanksgiving.

#2 Must be a Type A personality. Those shreds bug me too, but I would never write that for everyone else- too funny!
I like the idea of buying just two of a favorite treat. That way there is no temptation to eat more.
Hi Lynn - all sound good to me - the flowers look so cheerful .. and those carmelita bars look good - I try and avoid deliciosa things like that!
Cheers Hilary
You said the "T" word - and ours is just hovering around the corner (Oct 14)...but I did order my farm fresh turkey so at least that's one thing off the "to do" list.
Definitely the "please" was an afterthought - lol!
Love the blooms!
I love that they thought better of their demand, and changed it to a request. And I would have chuckled too.
Love the flowers - and am ignoring the cookie bars. With determination.
Such a pretty flower combo you made- Love the Sunflower!
Someone's so picky about badly ripped off paper pads! <please
Those bars look good! Lucky you! I had trouble eating an oat cookie a few minutes ago- Really want teeth again! But did eat ice cream n pudding today.
I think that every once in a while, you should be allowed to indulge yourself.
All Cheerful,Funny and Yummy!
Do those bars have chocolate in them? Oh God, I hope not. They look so delicious----and Chocolate is my downfall...!
Whole Foods bouquets are so pretty! And their cookie bars - big yum.
That note sounds like something I would have thought about writing. Those shreds drive me nuts!
Well, now you make me want to try Whole Foods. That is, if they ever complete the one coming to our town:~)
Hey, regarding Carmelita bars...you have to treat yourself every once in awhile. They do look YUMMY for the TUMMY.
The flowers are very nice. I love flowers in vases. Jim picks them for me occasionally.
I have to admit regarding the notepad, I probably would have torn a sheet off leaving the shreds. That note would have tempted the devil in me:~)
Leonora -
I think you are right. :)
That's the way I do it - works for me.
Hilary -
They are a once-a-week treat.
Cheers to you!
Talon -
It's hard to believe it's already October!
Elephant's Child -
Me, too. :)
Snaggle -
Thank you - there were three sunflowers in that little bunch and they fit in quite nicely.
G -
Me, too - although I may be doing that a bit more than once in a while.
Naomi -
I'm glad you liked it. :) I think it's just caramel - they are so good.
Joanne -
I like their cookie bar because of the option of just getting a couple of them. :)
Mama Zen -
Well - it would be funny if you did that. :)
Sara -
Tallahassee is getting a Whole Foods??? I'll have to tell my sister. I drop many $$$ at WF.
I know - I was tempted, but tore a sheet off very carefully. :)
OK I am laughing my ass off at the note on that pad!!! You talk about being anal retentive! Don't you wish you had that much free time?
I love gerbera daisies.
There is nothing I like more than a clean, neat page. It would be difficult for me to write something on a tablet with shreds at the top. Now you know that about me.
Plus, what's with the Carmelita bars being two different sizes? Had you already cut off a piece of one before the picture or were you cheated?
Riot Kitty -
I thought the same thing.
Granny Annie -
It's all good, but would you have written a note to others about it?
I had borrowed that photo (I gave credit under it) and that baker was showing her version and the one from Whole Foods and how they look pretty much alike. Her version is long and fairly labor intensive. I've decided I'm good with getting them at Whole Foods. :)
