- My coworker's three-year-old grandson had to move to a new preschool and on his first day, another little boy was crying, and the grandson went over and sat with him and held his hand. Kindness at an early, but pivotal age.
- And having a nice telephone conversation with my nephew Doug, also always very kind, who had a birthday yesterday. He was snowed in with his parents at their home in Virginia, but was getting the dinner he requested: turkey cutlets and scalloped potatoes, with pecan pie for dessert. I had a memory flash of him at about five-years-old asking if we could please have turkey cutlets for dinner and we did then, too. I'm glad he got the dinner he wanted - he's a beloved young man, who I don't post about enough.
It's the weekend already. Woo hoo! Hope you have a great one.

That fountain is beautiful! And both of those boys sound like total sweethearts!
What a shame that the artist cannot know how much his/her beautiful work is appreciated.
I remember birthday dinners. A highlight each year...
Kindness....how wonderful it is - to give and to receive. A feeling of warmth difficult to compare or replace.
I love the fountain...beautiful. :)
Great story about your co-workers son!
I hope you had a nice trip!! I love the fountain.
It's nice to read about children being kind and understanding and that you two in your family.
Aw, it's so adorable when kids are sweet to each other. I know a pair of 7-year-olds who play nicely together. While the adults at a get-together have our own games going on, we can hear them exploding in hysterical giggles in the playroom. It's the best!
lovely fountain!
and a very sweet demonstration of friendliness from your coworker's grandson
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE scalloped potatoes, but the hubs does not so I never have them. :) Hubs likes sea scallops, and says the potato dish is a big lie -- not even one scallop in it. :)
Yes, gorgeous fountain.
And sweet young boy, that warmed my heart.

What a lovely fountain.
I wonder if the artist used a live model or if it's a Mirror self-portrait. Looks like a fun clay project. I want to make one- Wish I had more free time!
That child was a good Samaritan!
I've never had turkey cutlets before. Never seen them at the store here- Hope your week-end went well, n wasn't too cold.
It's funny you should say that about not posting enough about Doug. I often feel that about certain people in my life too. Maybe they seem too precious to share with everyone else.
You know...it looks like he is spitting in his hands to me!
