- These guys from Ohio are self-described "snowbirds" - people, often retired, who live in the northern US or Canada and move for extended periods to the south during the colder months. They were fishing for pompano or whiting, they said. (See the fishing poles stuck in the sand.)
- My favorite book shop in nearby Seaside, Florida, paid tribute to the late author, Harper Lee with an intriguing quote from the beloved character, Miss Jean Louise (Scout) Finch. That is such an intriguing quote and I don't remember it. I've meant to re-read To Kill a Mockingbird. Maybe it's time.
Hope you don't mind a few more photos from this trip next week - I didn't want to overload this post. :) Have a great weekend, y'all!

So pleasant
I think I'm a Snowbird too. Where we have our house in AZ a great many of our neighbours are from Canada. They live in the houses during the winter months then move back to Canada in the summer when the AZ heat becomes too much. Personally it never gets too hot for me in AZ, but maybe the novelty would wear off after many years.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I think I would like to be a reverse snow bird, and escape the heat to cooler climes...
Looks like a great trip! But those "snowbirds" were dressed too warm to truly be from up north :)
That is such a pretty part of Florida, the beaches are gorgeous. My son is in Florida this weekend too, wish I was!
I feel as if I'm there! How nice it would be to be there! :)
I love chalkboard signs.
I find it wickedly amusing that those two gentlemen from Ohio are wearing jackets on the beach. Ohio can have some of the most vicious winter weather imaginable, which can quickly prepare you to live under any kind of cold temperature.
Father Nature's Corner
I aspire to be a snowbird someday.
I have my copy of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD beside my chair in the den with ever intention of re-reading. However, as you know, I am addicted to audio books and haven't picked it up yet.
We have relatives who sold their home of over 40 years, stored treasured belongings, bought a Winnebago and live full time as Snow birds following the action where it takes them. They love it but I am afraid I would miss my family too much.
Hi Lynn - it just looks lovely down there .. peaceful and so enjoyable. Then books to read .. love the sign - very clever .. cheers Hilary
Lovely shots - that beach looks inviting.
