Another weather event in Atlanta. I posted an almost identical photo like this in mid-December. It's what I do on the rare snow days: stand at the front door, take a photo, and send it to everyone. This one seems a bit more somber, but it was quiet and beautiful at 7am on Wednesday morning.
Neighbor Mike had to go to work in spite of treacherous road conditions - I loved the image of the foot prints down below. We Southerners just don't travel well on snow and ice. We try, but it often ends in mishaps.
My outdoor potted plants have been inside since last Friday evening. It's been below freezing every day since then, but the geranium seems to love it and has graced me with a blossom. A warm up is in sight. The jungle can go outside on Sunday.
I hope your weekend is full of warmth and light, my friends!

We have been hit hard this winter for us - but I love it - do you?
Okies are the biggest idiots when it comes to driving on ice. It is so rare that we have it here, many think their big 4WD vehicles can go like race cars. That is why I try to stay home...now that I am retired and I can. LOL
Geraniums love cooler weather -- it makes their colours even more vibrant! On the other hand, below freezing is TOO cool for them, lol!
Sandie -
I do love it, but not driving around in it. I used my time at home on Wednesday by binge-watching Big Little Lies.
Granny Annie -
I saw that some here, too.
Debra -
This one is a bit spindly, but I love that it bloomed.
So far this year we've had half a day of snow here in this part of UK and that's enough for me! We Brits don't do well with snow and ice either! There is something beautiful about the peace and quiet you get when snow is on the ground though.
Such stunning images. And a cool respite as we swelter. Thank you so much. Drivers here don't cope well with less than optimum conditions either. Black ice almost guarantees accidents.
better go grab all the milk and bread you can
Our house is on a giant hill AND it is in the shade, so we don't like snow or ice!
It does look pretty, I agree, but I mostly like it on Christmas cards! LOL!
Hi Lynn - I love the views from your home ... but can see the chill in the air - though it is beautiful - enjoy the 'warm up' and putting those plants back out - cheers Hilary
Hello, I am ok with the snow if I do not have to drive anywhere in it. It is pretty to look at. It is a good idea to bring in the plants when the weather is so cold. Your flowers look lovely. Enjoy your day and weekend!
Such a contrast to what we're receiving down this way at present. Summer is living up to its reputation!
Stay warm, while I try to stay cool! :)
two different words
from snow to green
quite a crazy
world it seems
last week was cold
you ask me how
will we got ice cream
milking our cows
The fish in our pound were
swimming around a fire
Four cats moved in with our pit
And no I’m not a liar
I cut up a frozen lighten bolts
and thawed them out for light
watching them flicker in the fire
I’d say was quite a sight
Still no snow but the dew
in the air Froze up tight
I chip my way to the mailbox
And that took all night
Have great day with your
green plants and trees white
as I chip away at this
silly story I write
Hopefully Lynn, unlike your neighbor, you were able to stay home and not drive in the snow. I watched several online news stories of auto mishaps that happened in places accustomed or not to winter, It's always nicer to enjoy the weather from a safe spot indoors. Your plants will be glad for improving outside temps.
Snow and ice here too! (Well for a few days, it's gone now)
Lovely snowy shots.
Twice already! Events seem to be becoming all over constantly this year! At least it doesn't look too deep. Hope you found some warm shoes to go out there. We are thawed now here at least. Iced up drains are causing local flooding. Glad your plants got a vaca indoors. Even mine under plastic out there got too cold n browned in the sub-z a few months ago. Oh boy, more sub zero wind chill on the forecast for Weds.
Snaggle - I bought a pair of Merrell Jungle Mocs a few years ago. They are perfect for walking on ice.
I hope it warms up for you soon!
Love that first photograph.
Our weather has been wet, wet, wet today!
That geranium is a beautiful colour flower.
All the best Jan
I'm up in Canada and we've had some ridiculous weather here. So much snow! Hope you all are keeping warm and not having too many snow days!
