New Year's Eve 2018

Greetings, my friends.  This is an (almost) eleventh hour post to close out 2018 and to vow to be a better blogger friend in the New Year!  My Christmas tree looks about the same as it does every year, but I love it so.  My favorite ornament continues to be Dorothy's Red Shoe, purchased at the Smithsonian Museum of American History a few years ago.  It's there in the middle - a little to the left.  My bear was from the now defunct Rich's Department Store, free with a purchase (or something like that) back in the 70s.  I saw one at an antique mall last Saturday for $24.  Mine still looks new every year, since it stays in a plastic bag in the Christmas closet during the year.

My sister and brother-in-law's home on Christmas morning, before I saw anyone.  Peaceful and quiet.  This was my late mother's wee Christmas tree that she had in her assisted living apartment.  I love that my sis puts it in her foyer every year.

Kitty Pete on Christmas Day.  It was warm enough in the Florida panhandle to sit outside with no jacket.  Pete was the first one I saw on Christmas morning.  He was lying on the kitchen table, which he is forbidden to do.  I was looking at the view out back before I spotted him.  He looked at me with no guilt.  He either figured I didn't care that he was on the table, or he didn't care what I thought.  I imagine it as the latter.  :)

Spotted at the aforementioned antique mall last Saturday.  A cardboard cutout of the King of Rock and Roll.  I texted the photo to my friend Steven, who has a partner who adores Elvis.  He replied, "I love what you've done with your living room!"

I hope your holidays were Merry and Bright.  And I hope the New Year will be good to you.  Hugs!

I remember the Rich's bear! You know I do! My favorite thing on Instagram this year was from the American History Museum, where the conservator had painstakingly renewed every single sequin onto Dorothy 's red shoes!

Oh! Forgot to say, I love Elvis! I have sent a card with Elvis in that gold suit to my nephew, he looks like Elvis but with blonde hair!

What beautiful Christmas images. Love the trees. I have my mom's wee tree also but did not decorate this year. Right now I have a pot of black-eyed peas simmering on the stove and hoping for luck in the New Year. I wish you lots of luck and happiness in 2019.

Happy New Year, Lynn, and it was so nice to see your post showing your Christmas decorations. Of course, I loved the story about your favorite ornament being Dorothy's red shoe as that is my given name! And, I also have some older and favorite teddy bears that were not put out with this year's decorations, but next year we may do a Beary Christmas theme. It was so nice to read about and see that little tree that was formerly in your mom's place and is now in your sister's home as I am sure it brings memories for you both. We also had an aunt who adored Elvis and would also have loved that display!

Thanks for your comments on our blog "last" year and looking forward to seeing you in blog-land in 2019.

I like your tree n ornaments! I miss having a tree-
Christmas was about 50F here, but after a few hours visiting grandkids, I had to go work all night.
We had a Riches store nearby in Plymouth. It was fun to Xmas shop here. Glad you made it to your Sister's for the holiday. Pete is looking pretty! Cats always seem to know when to disregard the rules!
I wonder if LLcoolJoe would put that Elvis in his parlor? Well, at least in his studio room.
Good thing to see a post here again!

I'm running incredibly late, Lynn...sorry...but being late doesn't mean my good wishes are any less meaningful and powerful! I wish you and your loved ones all the very best 2019 has to offer.

Kitty Pete is very much like my beloved, Remy...my male cat. Remy's sister (same ages...16 years) is lovely, too...she is a tabby...both are very spoiled. And why not, I say! :)

Hi Lynn - love the photos and the sentiment of your sister to put your mother's little tree up as well as other decorations. Pete sounds like he has life taped ... beautiful place to live for all concerned. Happy New Year - a month late ... but I'm sort of getting back into it - cheers Hilary

Such a beautiful post, I want to share a testimony on how Dr itua healing herbs cure me.
The worst time has passed”However, it is true that there are more improvements than before...because of the rising numbers of people living with HIV in the state of Nevada. How could they stigmatize all of them? Therefore everything becomes a little easier and we start to share everything... We also started to invite and visit each other in a community. You know, it is six years since I started taking antiretroviral drugs...Yet whatever problems I face, the worst time has passed
When I was evicted from the family home by my mother, my father rented a small room for me. But my mother and brothers believed that having HIV was my own fault – and that I deserved to be punished...I also considered myself unworthy and without hope... But I have a child and eventually I convinced myself to live for my child’s sake.
My mother knew nothing [about HIV]. She didn’t understand anything. Do you know why? She didn’t have [the chance] to go out of the house and communicate with society. However, my father does interact with the community. I know his friends are mature and dignified in africa america. So he has a better understanding than her.
My father came call me on a sadfull day sitting on my couch about a friend of his from africa who introduce him to Dr Itua herbal cure in africa in which he advise we should purchase his herbal medicine to cure my hiv so we did and Dr Itua prescribed I should drink the herbal medicine for two weeks to cure although we were so curious about the whole thing ,I finished the herbal medicine like he advised then he talked to me to visit my nearest clinic for check up I did and now I'm totally cured from Hiv my father was my rock and I and my family are now happy together also Dr Itua has be helpful in my community ever since he cure my Hiv and my tinnitus so why I'm leaving my story on here today is to reach out someone out here to hope on God and never give up no matter the situation you that you are facing especially through this pandemic seasons which has really taught us all on how we should be helpful to each other and cherish one another.
Dr Itua cures the following diseases..... Herpes,Liver cancer,Throat cancerLeukemia. ,Alzheimer's disease,Chronic Diarrhea,Copd,Parkinson,Als,Adrenocortical carcinoma Infectious mononucleosis.
