Comic relief, old friend and sunrise

- This photo of Sophie is a favorite, taken with my camera phone on a day when I needed comic relief. I do think that animals have an instinct for knowing when their people need comfort.

- A couple of cold beers with an old friend.

- The sunrise in my rear view mirror also mirrored in the glass buildings in the looming skyline of Atlanta.

Happy Friday, y'all!

Watching, admiring and appreciating

- Watching how my kitty handles a fresh bowl of water that has been set in its proper place. She slides it a bit with her paw so the water moves like gentle waves and then drinks.

- Admiring my neighbor for her intent in loading a trail bike in her car in 27 degree weather at 6:30am. Me: Are you going to ride that today? Her: I was, but can't fit it in!

- Appreciating an enthusiastic Friday welcome by pressman Eddie.

Soiree, safe, oh yes I do

- Calling a potential client who owns a catering company for a meeting and after my enthusiastic response when she describes their food, invites me to lunch.

- A woman at the gym describing the circumstances in which her son did not have to go to Iraq. He had a lingering staph infection from a communal hot tub from his gym.

- Asking Charlone if she is happy it is Friday. Her response, "I AM happy, Honey! You just don't know!"

Weekend!, midtown experience, inspiration

Lavender by Bob Trammell

- Laughing, talking and sharing a yummy meal of steak, blue cheese salad and chocolate cake with good friends. I looked forward to it all day and it lived up to expectations.

- A falafel sandwich on flatbread with thinly sliced carrots and tomatoes and a lovely yogurt / chili sauce dressing. Messy but delicious. I went to Metrotainment to pick up the chocolate cake and stopped by Star Provisions for the sandwich.

- Reading Hugh Tran's beautiful prayer* for Bob Trammell to heal.

* DEAR JESUS, DIVINE PHYSICIAN AND HEALER OS THE SICK, WE TURN TO YOU IN THIS TIME OF ILLNESS. O DEAREST COMFORTER OF THE TROUBLED, ALLEVIATE OUR WORRY AND SORROW WITH YOU GENTLE LOVE, AND GRAND US THE GRACE AND STRENGTH TO ACCEPT THIS BURDEN.

DEAR GOD, WE PLACE OUR WORRIES IN YOUR HANDS. WE PLACE OUR SICK UNDER YOUR CARE AND HUMBLY ASK YOU RESTORE YOUR SERVANT TO HEALTH AGAIN.

ABOVE ALL, GRANT US THE GRACE TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR HOLY WILL AND KNOW THAT WHATSOEVER YOU DO, YOU DO FOR THE LOVE OF US.

AMEN.

Creativity, recognizable footsteps, right!

David Fried, Self Organizing Still Life (SOS)

- Visiting the Atlanta Botanical Gardens with friend Leisa on a beautiful night. The current exhibit is called Sculpture in Motion. The balls on the smooth surface shown above move toward you when you call to them.

- Robert pokes his head around the corner when I call out a good morning to him: "How did you know it was me?"

- Bobby's smile when I passed him on the way in, "It's Friday, right?"
