Bursting, congratulating and lovely

- An impromptu lunch sitting beside Bobby Jones Golf Course, fairly bursting with greenness.

- Overhearing a man congratulating another on his new grandchild through the wall behind my office. Then more discussion between these two very nice men about how great it is to have grandchildren.

- A friend tells of walking her dog in her neighborhood and a daily encounter with a recent immigrant from Russia, who knows one word of English. She likes to pet Cathy's dog, crooning, "Lovely!" over and over.

Miles of petals, enhanced and swap

- A quick trip for work to middle Georgia, where flowering trees like this one line the roads. Open road and miles of petals.

- A pre-meeting stop at a nearby coffee shop and listening to a man (who must be a local judge) talk to the woman behind the counter about the open house that was held for the new "enhanced" jail. If desired, one could even spend the night there. No thanks, but it makes me wonder why there is so much effort to make the jail especially special. :)

- Overhearing a co-worker express his frustration with not being able to find something on the internet. I remind him of the time he fixed my broken desk drawer and locate his automobile paint distributor for him. Now he can paint his hobby "hot rod."

Fun accountant, nice client and just teasing (really)

- Deep in thought at the grocery store, someone calls my name and I can't quite put her in context for a moment. It turns out to be my once-a-year accountant. We always have such a great time at my tax appointment that we spend a few minutes on the sidewalk catching up and then, "See you in February!"

- Hearing from a nice woman that the printed piece we did for her company is "quite a hit!"

- Overheard at work, "You're out of your mind! If you had a mind, you'd be out of one!"
