The wedding tree, yes to the dress and surrounded by love

- Niece Amanda (the youngest, sob!) will be married to her beloved Travis next March under that tree in the middle of the photo.  (Click to enlarge.)  The branch on the left forms a natural arch that they will stand under during the ceremony.  She wanted to be married at home on the farm and the plans are going beautifully.

- I was delighted to be invited for the choosing of the dress and went with the wedding posse to this bridal shop on Saturday morning, where a dress that is very "her" was chosen.

- Four-year-old great nephew Monroe woke on Sunday morning and came out with Curious George in tow, rubbing his eyes and asking "Where's Aunt Lynnie?"  I got the best sleepy hug.

- Travis and his seven-year-old daughter Kloie are already a part of our family.  She knows that I love dragonflies and was so excited to give me this one, fashioned out of paper, that she made for me.  It has a place of honor on my refrigerator, along with hummingbird paraphernalia and Frieda Kahlo.  :)

It was a long, quick trip and I'm still tired from it, but I was surrounded by love all weekend.  I needed that.

Morning coffee, porch, porch, porch and day is done

I'm revisiting Seagrove, Florida from a recent trip with friends to their house there.  I can't get enough of the colors there and feel so calm after re-looking at these photos this morning.

- It was a chilly morning, that first morning, but I stepped out on the porch anyway with my coffee to watch the sun rising.

- Looking to the right - I titled this photo Porch, Porch, Porch.  These are row houses and the porches go on forever.  The blue color of the porch furniture is indicative of the colors you see everywhere.  If you click to enlarge, the road you see going by the houses is a snippet of scenic Highway 30A, that runs along the Gulf of Mexico coastline.

- And sunset, from the same spot.  That is my favorite place to hang out, I think.  I cropped out the future-view-obstructing house under construction for this photo.  Still beautiful, even with those pesky (but necessary) power lines.  :)

Beautiful day, proposal and more chatting time

- A quick trip on Friday night to see my sister and brother-in-law with two of my friends.  On Saturday, they wanted to see Thomasville, Georgia, with it's bustling downtown area.  Sister and I were sitting on a bench waiting for them outside this kitchen shop here.  A beautiful day.

- Scarecrow competitions must be the big thing this year.  This one was on his knee proposing marriage to anyone who walked by.  Click to enlarge.

- All three of these photos were taken while my sis and I sat on sidewalk benches waiting for the browsing friends (we both tend to breeze through shops and move on - it's all good, either way.)  It gave us more chatting time and she never questioned why I pulled my camera out for random photos.  None of these three photos were altered at all - the beautiful sunlight tells the story of the day.

The fabric, lucky day and that's what it's all about

- Passing miles and miles of cotton growing in south Georgia last weekend, many times seeing it growing up to a farmhouse's front door. I never get tired of gazing at it - it's a big deal down there.

- A client I visit at her home has made too much soup and sends me off with a ziplock bag of it. It's a thick tomato soup with pasta in it and just the ticket for lunch back at the office for a gal with a cold.

- A quote that I like: The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects the wind; the realist adjusts the sails.
