Three sisters, I love us, too and sentimental journey

- My birthday was this week and it seemed like a good time for three sisters who live in three different states to have a visit.  :)  Sister from Virginia spotted these flowers immediately and said, "Oh how nice - someone sent you flowers!"  Nope - I buy them for myself.  :)

- Sister from Virginia and sister from Florida made the last leg of their journey to Atlanta together (I know - complicated.)  They bought party hats along the way and they were wearing them when I opened the door.  :)  They said they had such fun giggling while they put them on before getting out of the car, causing one sister to say to the other, "I love us."

- We are taking a sentimental journey today to the town where our paternal ancestors settled after arriving in the United States in the early 1800s.  I just love being with my sisters no matter what we do.

And I hope all good things happen to you this weekend, my friends!

Sisters' Weekend, just ask and synchronicity

- It's calling my name: the Hiawassee River that runs in back of my sister's vacation home in Clay County, North Carolina. Three sisters are converging today from three states, Virginia, Georgia and Florida, to have Sisters' Weekend 2011. We haven't gotten to do this in three years, due to family illness, etc., so we are looking forward to this time together. Our dad always said of prior Sisters' Weekends, "I'm so glad y'all are close." Me, too.

- A friend's response to the email solicitation I send out for donations to a non-profit (after my apology for asking): "A motto from my Mom; 'You don’t get anything unless you ask.'"

- And late in the day, in perfect synchronicity - my sister walks out of the world's busiest airport just as I drive up.

So I'll be around for blog catch-up on Monday. Thank you, as always, for visiting mine. And have a lovely weekend, my friends!

Companionable silence, neighborly and relaxation

- Helping other women quietly set up for a luncheon, lots of hands making the tasks go quickly.

- Neighbor Marion standing outside flagging neighbors that the Chevron station on the corner "had gasoline as of 45 minutes ago."

- A lazy afternoon napping.

Sisterhood

- Loved Spamalot and explaining Monty Python to one of the Fun Girls was a funny experience in itself. Also loved the toast by recently divorced Joanne, "To Sisterhood!"

- Sitting with other women waiting for mammograms this morning - I was taken with the different ways we all fastened the paper cape around us. I heard the magic words, "You're good to go!" and made my way through the rain.

- Ash Wednesday service found me sitting among cherished friends. One of them whispered, "Good night, Sister" in my ear as we left in silence.
