I adore this video - and I'm not even sure of who a few of the musicians are, but recognized most of them (and Brian Wilson is still my favorite).

- I can't wait to share this with the biggest Elvis Presley fan I know - my friend Ronnie.  This wee one must have a DVD player that she gets to watch while riding in the car (niece Abby has found that helpful with Monroe on long car trips, although he generally falls asleep watching it - maybe that's the point.)  Anyway - it gave me a chuckle this morning.  Stick with it - it's a fun five + minutes.

- Attending a funeral home visitation that sounded for all the world like a cocktail party, as I approached the room.  It turned out to be a true celebration of a life ended too soon.

- Getting stuck in a terrible traffic jam that clogged side streets in the suburbs - a very unusual thing really.  (It was due to a gas main break on a pivotal intersection.)  Not that that is a good thing, but in the 2.5 hours I was in it, there was only one ridiculous person (behind me, of course) acting like a fool (horn blowing, etc. #pointless).  What I liked was that everyone else sucked it up and dealt with it.  When I finally saw my living room at 8pm, I wanted to give it a hug. 

I hope life is being good to you today and that you find someone to give a hug to (even if it is your living room.)  :)  Have a great weekend!

Number 1 Best Friend, good idea and Mom Yoga Now

- The Celtic cross that I was given last weekend at the Highland games.  Some friends (a grandmother, mother and 12-year-old son) to our Clan tent got it from a vendor who makes Celtic woodcarvings and presented it to me at the Clan dinner on Saturday night for being their "Number 1 Best Friend" at the games.  That's what I like most about those games - we are all family for a couple of days.

- They have a loose connection with our Clan and adopted our tent to hang out in.  And I like it when they are there, because they are fun.  :)  The grandmother said (tongue in cheek, of course) that I should hang it at my doorway to "keep vampires away", and that seemed like a jolly good idea!  So there it is, hanging in my foyer.

- And if you have time for a peaceful six minutes, watch this video of a mom and yoga instructor, who lives in Kansas, who makes time for yoga while her children play around her.  It's lovely.

Another favorite, home made gift tags and playing patty-cake

- Another favorite Christmas ornament, an Eskimo - one that my older sister sent while living in Alaska several, several years ago.  There's a similar one on the Christmas tree in the post below, that belonged to my parents (also sent from sis back then.)  Seen on lower left of that tree.

- Feeling downright crafty as I make my own Christmas package tags this year.  I got the idea from Southern Living magazine, who suggested you could use holiday cookie cutters to draw a pattern onto old Christmas cards (I must have 500), cut them out and use them for tags.  But coworker Joanne suggested I get this Christmas tree punch, made by Ek, at Hobby Lobby.  Punch a hole and you are done.  I got some red and white bakers' twine for attaching them to gifts. 

- And this moment of pure silliness will hopefully make you laugh out loud, as it did me.  Hope you enjoy.  :)

Cat vs. Piñata, memories and beautiful noise

- Something fun for Friday/weekend - Cat vs. Piñata.  I love that this was one made just for cats  (you'll see.)  The maker of the video posted it on YouTube with this message:  "Made this piñata for our rescue cat Charlie to help him celebrate Cinco de Mayo tomorrow as well as his one year anniversary of being ours. Like so many shelter cats, Charlie was on the verge of being euthanized." 

- I was lead to this little video after viewing a film called, "What do books do when people aren't around?" from my county library's blog.  It can be viewed here.  It reminded me of that old cartoon that shows a kitchen at night with the salt and pepper shakers dancing, and all the cutlery in motion, etc. and they scramble back in place when the humans come back.

- A late afternoon walk in the mostly silent park, until rounding the corner and a sight to behold:  the swings full of squealing laughing toddlers in motion.  The mom and nanny brigade surrounding them all smiles.

A song about loving cats, no harmony and find

- This is a spoof of one of those dating site videos that someone took a further step in "songifying." Just seeing the "cat band" is worth watching. What makes this a good thing? It made me laugh out loud and reminded me that the world is a great place if someone has the patience to make a cat look as if it is beating drums.

- I went through that dating site process once and the experience made me tell all my married and significant othered friends to hang onto their mates! You do end up revealing yourself so much and you run into crazy people like that guy who told me on an email (I never met him in person) that in our future relationship I would have to "keep myself clean." I told him that could be a problem and that we needed to end this right now. :)

- Discovering a forgotten cherry Tootsie Pop in my purse when searching for a pen in my cavernous purse before an evening meeting. A committee member says, "oh you are such a kid, aren't you?" when I unwrap it. At heart maybe, but really just a gal with a sweet tooth. Maybe I should make a video about loving candy and songify it. :)
