Cheery welcome, not today and nature's light show

- This cheery welcome, incorporating hosts, dinosaurs, Georgia's gold-domed capitol building and other points of interest, is the first thing you encounter when you step off the elevator at Georgia Public Broadcasting. Such a nice surprise - the wall before being just kind of blank.

- The woman at the drive-thru at Kentucky Fried Chicken telling me about the $1000 per day sweepstakes I can register for with the receipt. And my non-gambling, doesn't-believe-in-gambling mother chiming in from the back seat, "Don't forget whose car you're driving!" I totally would have turned over the money, but it was not to be...we were not winners this day. :)

- Nature's light show lighting up the still dark morning sky. It is always a relief to arrive to work safely during rain showers and to hear co-workers coming in one by one.

I haven't seen Big Bird in years! That's definitely a nicer greeting than a blank wall.

I'm glad you arrived safely this morning. There's some crazy weather all over the place. I'm heading out to pick up downed branches and overturned furniture this morning as the wind continues to be dangerously strong.

I'm laughing reading about your back seat driver - lol! No matter how old we get, our Moms still rule!

It started with the sky blue wall and then yesterday the somewhat 3-D collage appeared. I was delighted with it.

You have had some crazy weather up there. Some of it is trickling this way.

So true - she rules. :)

So the inside of media buildings in Atlanta don't all look like the one in Fierce Creatures? LOL

Hi Lynn.

I just want to again offer my sincerest apologies for the crass comment that was contained in my post today. It wasn't my intent to offend you, indirectly or otherwise, with my post.

You'll find a similar response left at my blog for you.

That's a great image. :)

We are having some rain storms here in the UK and it certainly does makes driving much more tricky.

Glad you made it into work safely.

I never saw Fierce Creatures - but loved A Fish Called Wanda. I will put it in my Netflix queue. This media building did have a more understated look - lots of regional art. But they are making it quite cheery lately.

I didn't think you meant to offend me personally. I just don't care for stereotyping different cultures or regional groups and felt I needed to say so. You are forgiven, my friend. :)

Joe -

It is just raining all the time everywhere - what's that about? I think we may just be over our drought now here in the south.

Ummm, I loves me some KFC, even if at our local one they "SO do not know how to live, Mom" because they have no spoons for the mashed potatoes.

lol at your mom in the back seat. She sounds like such a great mom.

Your mom sounds funny! I haven't been to KFC in a very long time.

I think spoons for mashed potatoes makes perfect sense!

She is a great mom!

We were just doing a quick fast food drive through between doctors appointments for my dad. It was pretty good though.

My mom and I spend a lot of time laughing. :)

Great mural-design work. Sesame Street?
If you don't play you can't win (or lose)!
I hate half-blinded by rain driving. Glad all went well

They incorporated several different public broadcasting shows in there with scenes from Georgia.
