Finger Labyrinth, laughing all the way and paths

Printable Finger Labrynth - I have this at work and find that it really does give a few moments of peace, when needed, by tracing the path with your non-dominant hand.

- Noticing that the director of my volunteer organization has a bicycle in her office now. She says she is taking time to ride it during her lunch break and the other day encountered a hill at nearby Atlantic Station that was so steep, she had to laugh her way up it.

- An email from cousin Susan that we will have 33 for Thanksgiving dinner next week. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I get to see at least 20 family members that I normally do not cross paths with during any other time in the year.

The labryinth is neat - I'll have to try that out.

I admire the director's spirit. I would have cried all the way up and maybe been able to laugh on my way down ;)

Will the dinner be buffet-style? Sounds like you're going to have a great time!

Talon -

It works for me - thought I'd share!

I would have cried, too. I told her I am so impressed she is doing that - she's also joining a yoga class at GA Public Broadcasting, but only if she doesn't have to stand on her head. I told her most of the time they don't force that. I've never been able to stand on my head.

The dinner will be buffet-style. I've been assigned my mom's sweet potato casserole - I'm so intimidated! (They will be at the dinner, but don't have a way to make food at the assisted living facility.)

Love that labyrinth idea. I was just tracing it with my eye and I was already getting hypnotized :-)

33 for thankgiving! How awesome that your family could get together in such full force. My parents are coming...that makes 2 guests in our household :-).

Cathy -

We all bring something and a couple of the guys do that fried turkey thing outdoors - so it is not a burden on anyone.

Jewel -

There is church nearby that has a prayer labyrinth that you can walk through. It is next to a university hospital and one of the family liasion people told me she sends people there for peace when they are stressed. She's the one that gave me this paper one first. It really does work.

Kelly and I love walking the cobblestone labyrinth in a local park, takes 10 minutes to get in and out.

lol on Talon's way up and down a hill.

We will be 7 for Thanksgiving, yay! So glad as the last 2 years it's been just Jim, Kelly and I -- which of course is a blessing, but with more it'll be much merrier. And at Trixie's house.

Lynn -- I love the idea of the finger labyrinth and appreciated the link to it.

It sounds like you're going to have a busy, but welcome Thanksgiving AND that you have a lot to be thankful for with that size of a family:~)

Jannie -

I think it is neat that do things like that with Kelly.

Blue Bunny -

We are thankful for karrits, aren't we? I'm glad you'll have so many for Thanksgiving. We'll have many casseroles with a cream soup ingredient as a base. :)

Sara -

Welcome Sara! I checked out your blog - you are a busy woman! The finger labyrinth might give you a nice break during the day.

And that's not even everyone in the family. My sister and her family of 6 won't be there. :(

I love that part about having to laugh all the way up a hill! What a great metaphor, too.

I love the sense of humor that she displayed telling me about it. And good for her for doing it!

33?? wow!! I don't think I've ever been to a Holiday meal with more then 15, tops. Have a wonderful time!!!
Also think the labrynth is a great idea. Work has been so stressful lately.

I was going to say the same as Kim! Wow! 33 people! That's a lot of people to feed! I assume it will be a buffet then?

I wouldn't have been laughing or cying going up the steep hill, I would have been thumbing for a lift for me and my bike. Then I would have been laughing!

Kim -

A lot of them are children. Fortunately my aunt's house has lots of yard for them to play. I can't wait to see everyone.

Joe -

It will be a buffet. And I would be right there with you thumbing a ride. :)

33?! Glad I'm not cooking!
There is a huge hill by me that I love to walk up. One day maybe i'll be able to run up it, but not yet.

Cool finger pattern to follow.
Laughing while riding uphill is almost as good as singing aloud while running- very difficult!
You are blessed to have a lrge Thanks diner to attend!
Mine will be a table for one- I will make some turkey soup.

Does your sweet potatoe carerole have brown sugar n molasses, or marshmellow? I was gonna buy one yam, but it was $4 so nevermind-

Lynn said...

Blue Bunny -

That sounds like you would get more bang for your buck. :)

Cookie -

Hope everyone is better over there. I like to walk and and not finding time to do it. I'll bet you tackle that hill soon.

Snaggle -

I wish you lived closer - you would be welcome to have dinner with us and make it 34.

Mom's casserole has pecans and brown sugar topping - it is like candy. I like the one with marshmallows though. Yum.

Make sure you do something to treat yourself special that day (or any day.)
