Friends -

My beloved father passed away this week after an extended illness. I have mentioned him so often that I thought I should let you all know, because you are all my friends, after all.

He was surrounded by love and passed away peacefully at home. We are sad, but happy for him that he is free from illness now. And we are all OK. Mom has been very strong. We will miss him terribly.

The funeral was Wednesday, and we all headed to my sister and brother-in-law's farm in Florida that evening. We celebrated Christmas in a place my dad loved very much.

I am headed back to Atlanta in a bit and my blog will be full of photos from the farm on Monday. Take care.

Love -

Dearest Lynn,

I recently read that "It takes a little darkness for us to see the stars, and a whole lifetime to reach them." How your dad must be shining now!

God bless you and keep you, Lynn. You are in my thoughts every step of the way.

Oh, Lynn, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know your father was such a beautiful soul, just from getting to know him on your blog, and I am glad he is no longer suffering. Yet I can only imagine how you must be missing and grieving him now.

Blessings on you and your family at this difficult time! I send you a virtual hug and some love.

Jannie -

A wonderful thought and thank you for sharing that. He is shining now.

George -

It took a few days to muster up the words to do it. Thank you for your condolences.

Riot Kitty -

Big hugs to you, too. I have a date with that chocolate - probably today! :)

Meredith -

Thank you - he was so special to me. I feel that virtual hug and love.

Lance -

Thank you for that - I am the person I am today for the upbringing I had from my parents. The one thing I kept hearing from everyone was what a nice man he was. He was a nice man, and he always put EVERYONE ahead of himself. I was so touched that carloads of my friends came to the visitation and the funeral - none of them had met dad. My friend Leisa said she overheard people who knew talking about what a wonderful man he was, and that makes me feels so proud.

Kim -

Thank you - I appreciate that.

Joe -

Thank you. He actually passed away on December 20, so you are not late in your comment. I just couldn't bring myself to put it into words until Saturday. He was such a good sweet man and I will miss him.

Thankyou for the update. I've been wondering about your blog absence and have been including you in my daily prayers.

May your family be blessed with many fond memories of your Dear Dad to comfort you as your lives go on. I'm certain you will continue to be an awesome example of the important life lessons he imparted on his life's journey. I'm honored to've heard of him and his incredible kind soul.

(apparently blogger ate my first comment here)

So happy you sense your father is at peace for he is that. When you love someone, that person is only ever a thought away, in this physical world or other worlds. I found you through Lance's blog. May the coming year empower you in unexpected ways. Blessings!
