Santa dish, celebrate and awake just in time

- I loved pulling out all the Christmas stuff this year and rediscovering some forgotten items, like this Santa dish from my mom's house. I gave it to her several years ago and it always held Hershey's chocolate kisses during the season. I put Dove dark chocolate squares in it though. I like how it sits in front of my grandmother's ice bucket in the kitchen.

- The Dove chocolate wrappers have positive messages inside, this from the one I had after dinner last night: The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. Love, Dove.

- My sister in Virginia tells of how her insomnia worked for her this time, as she was able to view the lunar eclipse while the rest of the family slept, shivering on her back porch and looking up at the moon with snow flurrying about.

That's a cute Santa dish. :-)

I had truly intended to get up and see the eclipse, but I slept through the whole thing.

Lynn~ I like that story about your sister. My son (age 20) stayed up to see it on the mountain but it was foggy here! He was disappointed...I had to google it!

Tho it may be round
it holds chocolate squares
and memories it storied
now with you it shares

Little messages
they hold in side
No not fortune cookies
but Chocolate surprise

Insomnia kept her
from sleeping that night
so she watch the eclipse
and it was quite a sight

Merry Christmas
to all and to all
a Good Night

I thought about it, but it was fleeting. :)

Love dark chocolate. Thanks for commenting.

She has a terrible time sleeping, so it worked out well for her.

I like that finish! :) Thank you for my poem.

A little, not a lot. Thanks for stopping by!

Insomnia is not fun.

Yay on the Dove Love!! How wonderful those little sayings. And Dove is so tasty. We've some little truffles from Central Market -- yummy! You guys have Central Markets? May be a Texas thing, the upscale H.E.B. You ever hear of Howard E. Butt? He's gone to his great grocery reward in the sky, but made a ton of bucks before doing so.

xoxoxo

Shoot -- missed another eclipse! How long until the next one like that - 300 years? :)

What a great dish. Now I want some chocolate, but like your sister I don't sleep that well, and maybe eating chocolate at 12.30am isn't such a good idea.

Wow- what nifty artifacts of Christmas past! ooo dark chocolate- I haven't been buying alot of that lately. i love those little message things. I've read a few in years past- i hate when they rip n you can't sometimes! That's a perfect message for you!
I'm jealous of your sis seeing the lunar show- very lucky! We were cloudy, tho I was wide awake.

Jannie -

I have not heard of Howard E. Butt, but think he had an interesting name. I always wonder if I would take that person's name if I was getting married to someone with the last name of a slang word of a body part. Sounds like he made quite a success! No Central Market here - I am a Publix girl myself.

I like that size chocolate - it's one bite and the nature of it makes me only want one. So good.

I have totally blown my diet during the last couple of weeks - that Dove chocolate was supposed to be for my sister's stocking. :)
See how weak I am?

I know - she was so lucky to be able to see the eclipse. Hope you aren't having to work too hard this holiday season.

I slept in. I had a bit of a sleep hangover and it took me a few minutes to think through a blog post. :) I pressed the easy button today.
