Slow cooker lasagna, signs of fall and dancing

- This is slow cooker lasagna, after being cooked for four hours in the slow cooker and then a final six minutes under the broiler to give it that golden look.  I found the recipe on the Williams-Sonoma website - you can find it here.  It makes A LOT - so my freezer is full of portions for future lunches and such.  This was a practice run for making it for guests.  It's very good, but a little salty tasting to me, probably because of the Italian sausage.  I might do half as much sausage next time or even leave it out and go vegetarian.

- Leaves crunching underfoot and the need to throw a wrap on when I leave on these brisk mornings here in the South.

- Watching the delightfully silly Dancing with the Stars.  I loved that guy's "Bollywood" style dance.  I am a passable dancer, and that rarely comes up anymore - usually just at wedding receptions - so I admire great dancing skills.  :)

I had no idea you could make lasagna in a slow cooker...that would make my life SO much easier.

I'm assuming the recipe is on the Slow Cooking site on your sidebar. It looks wonderful. I have a quick crockpot lasagna that the grandkids love (as do the adults). Alternate layers of frozen cheese ravioli in your slow cooker with spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese and cook for 4 hours on high.

The chickens are telling me that it is fall as they refuse to rush out of the pen in the morning and snooze a little longer on the roost.

I have never watched DWTS but should because so many rave about it. I took social dance in college but can't say any of the lessons took.

Wow...remind me NOT to come to your site when I haven't had lunch. My stomach immediate growled its approval of the lasagna:~)

We're just starting to feel the chill in the mornings. However, it warms up very quickly. The sky is more like a winter sky -- bright and clear.

I used to do ballroom dancing. My favorite dance is the waltz. It has so much grace. I kind of miss it, but Jim is not very fond of ballroom dancing -- he prefers freestyle dancing and let all move the way it wants, but at least he likes to dance:~)

Enjoy your fall!

Looks like a good lasagna. As dancer, we love programs like Dancing with the stars.

Greetings,
Filip

I have a great veggie lasagna recipe (well, technically, more than one, since there's more than one sauce) if you like. NOM!

Slow cooker lasagna. I wanna try it. Welcome to fall. I'll let you know how the lasagna turns out. :)

That looks like a great dish to try. Must look it up, thanks-

Getting chilly here too. Had a frost last Saturday. Doing long johns, flannel shirts, n hoodies under jackets myself- well the winds are biting here this week. The leaves are everywhere here.

I can't watch DWTS anymore since work changed my nights off. I do miss it. Someday I hope to get a recorder that will program properly (last one never worked the scheduled recordings- well it was cheap!).
But now I get to see Grey's Anatomy after not seeing any in years...

Vegetarian lasagne, crispy autumn leaves, watching someone else dance: heaven. (At least three left feet here)

FB -

I was so intrigued by that, that I just had to try it. :)

Joanne -

The assembling is the most work, so that part of it isn't any easier, but I was thinking I could do that the next time it's my turn to host single friends dinner. I'm kind of known for being stuck in the kitchen and this would take care of that.

Granny Annie -

The recipe can be found where you click the red word "here." I'll have to try your version - sounds good!

Ah - lucky chickens to be able to sleep in a little.

DWTS is just a fun and silly diversion.

Sara -

My sister says that about the weather, too - y'all are in the same neck of the woods.

Filip -

Yes - I remember that you and Kristel are dancers. That is so wonderful.

Riot Kitty -

I would like to have it - send it please.

Let me know - it was fun to make that. You have to snap the corners of the lasagna noodles off so it will fit. And I only used 12 of the noodles - for 4 layers, but somehow used all the other ingredients.

Snaggle -

Let me know if you make it!

And I love Grey's Anatomy, too. :)

The Elephant's Child -

I am an OK dancer if I don't over think it. My friend Ronnie pulled me out on the dance floor for an impromptu jitterbug a couple of years ago and people came up telling me what a good dancer I am. I just didn't have time to think about it and followed his lead. :)

Hi Lynn .. I am now very hungry - lunch is not long away and that's a good thing?!

I love lasagne and often just make a mince dish with lots of seasonal veggies - that one looks so delicious ...

Cheers Hilary

Lynn!
I have missed you and (rightfully) came to your blog for some encouragement today.

You might really like the movie "Bride and Prejudice" which is the Indian version of Pride and Prejudice. I love-love the Bollywood Indian style dancing and musical numbers in this film. Check it out. It is a tasteful, extremely festive (colorful) and a true to the story line version of our contemporary film.

Perhaps you could try the sweet Italian sausage made by Pepperidge Farms instead for that dish? I use it in Italian dishes when I want the sausage flavor but it us not salty.

"Want to' eat that photo of your dish!

It's getting cold here, too. Today the misty rain would have been snow if it were, indeed, colder.

I'd love to see a photo of your recipe after it's made sometime.

Cheers!

Where have you been? I'm missed you, too.

Thanks for the Bollywood tip - I'll check that one out. :)

And I don't recall seeing that brand of sausage in the stores here, but definitely look for it. That might make all the difference.

Sandie -

'Twas good!

Me, too. :)

Lynn~ I have been busy refurbishing Barbie dolls. Just learned how to professionally repaint Midge lips and I'm working on my technique for Barbie lips. Successfully re-rooted a red headed Midge doll and now she is awful cute! My next project is to re-root a brown haired ponytail swirl Barbie doll that I picked up with an awful haircut!

So as you can see, I am deeply immersed with this hobby.

Might get out this Sunday to take some fall pics but 'the peak' is over here. :-(
