- Another favorite Christmas ornament, an Eskimo - one that my older sister sent while living in Alaska several, several years ago. There's a similar one on the Christmas tree in the post below, that belonged to my parents (also sent from sis back then.) Seen on lower left of that tree.
- Feeling downright crafty as I make my own Christmas package tags this year. I got the idea from Southern Living magazine, who suggested you could use holiday cookie cutters to draw a pattern onto old Christmas cards (I must have 500), cut them out and use them for tags. But coworker Joanne suggested I get this Christmas tree punch, made by Ek, at Hobby Lobby. Punch a hole and you are done. I got some red and white bakers' twine for attaching them to gifts.
And I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

Ha! I love how the Eskimo is peeking out from the branches.
The gift tags are a great idea! Why don't I think of these things? I would have sprung for the hole punch version too.
Love the Eskimo Santa. Not real sure I can see it on the tree in the second picture but I can pretend that I can. You are too crafty for me. I would never spend money on a tree punch. Love the Patty Cake Cats!
Ha ha, I showed that video on my blog a few months ago and it still makes me crack up! It's so funny.
What a great idea with the Christmas tags, Hobby Lobby are full of great things. I tend to use just boring plain gold or silver tags on my parcels.
Lynn~ The cat thing is just wayyyy tooo cooool. I will show my 22 year old son (home from college) as he is a 'cat person.' (We have two.) No kidding~our female cat plays the guitar. If we have one in a holder and some luncheon meat handy, she walks up to the face and plucks SEVERAL strings with her fang. She then proceeds to do it over and over gain until she scores a treat.
One time we had our Pastor over for dinner and we told him this (and he was an unbeliever!) So...we got out the guitar and Mia plucked away (on command; "Mia~play the quitar...") over and over.
Like that Christmas tree punch, too. That thing is nifty!
Hi Lynn .. love the two little Eskimo tree hangings ... but making your own tags is a great idea ... so useful for kids too, or the elderly, etc ..
Have a very happy Christmas and New Year .. cheers Hilary
Those tags are neat! My cats play a similar, more sinister version, but it's hilarious to watch - they stand on their back legs and whap at each other.

Me, too. :) I had that box of decorations packed away and it was fun getting those out this year.
There's always next year!
Granny Annie -
You can also make a garland with them. :)

How did I miss that on your blog? I love it, too - just spotted on facebook yesterday.
You could make plain ones and punch them out, too. I just like using the old Christmas cards.

He'll love it then. :) That's so neat that Mia can play the guitar.
They have a snowflake one, too, but were sold out.
Hilary -
I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, too, Hilary. Cheers to that!

I'm glad you liked it. I just watched it again. :)
Big hugs to you!

Merry Christmas to you!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Love your tags - you are a craft lady for sure. And I thought those two cats were cute!
At work today I had to admit Santa was black- so who says he can't be an eskimo? Great idea to recycle cards! Mine get reread sometimes. We all used to write notes inback of the front image part- less these days. Hey, I've only recieved 3 cards so far this year...
I have to wait a few days to load video again. Folks say it's cute cats so I have to see it- I wanna see the cat play LGs guitar too!
I love those gift tags. Soooo clever, and beautiful with it. And yes, the inspired silliness still has me smiling. Thank you.
I sure DID and AM laughing at those patty-cakers. oh gosh, I feel 7 years younger now after that laugh, thanks! In fact, after I post this I'll have another view of it.
Oh, that tree tag cutter is magnificent!! Lovely-lovely.
Is those hand-carved Alaskan ornaments? some of the Inuit carvings are very beautiful. I guess they are Inuit, right? I'm not as up on my Esquimaux as I could be, I guess. :)
xoxoxo
I mean ARE those, not is those. :)

That was my mama's favorite Christmas song. :)
Sandie -
I'm glad you liked it. :)
Snaggle -
I saw a black Santa today - I love that we have a variety of ethnicities when it comes to Sandta.
The Elephant's Child -
Cats are quite entertaining, I think, especially those two. :)
Jannie -
Yes - I think Inuit. I tried to look it up before posting and finally settled on Eskimo. :)

What an excellent way to bring new life to old Christmas cards! I've never thought of such a thing. Although I am a dedicated saver and re-user of gift-wrap and bags. I think I might have to steal that idea.
That tree stamp and using cookie cutters on old cards for gift tags is an awesome idea. Thanks for sharing!
Cute Eskimo ornament, btw.
Those kitties were adorable, too. LOL
Sparkling Red -
Steal away - easiest craft ever! :)

I enjoyed doing something a little different this year.
It was fun rediscovering ornaments that hadn't been hung for a while.
