- From the museum visit last Saturday - this rather astounding piece called "Pink Panther." It depicts the film star and sex symbol of the '50s and '60s, Jayne Mansfield, embracing the the cartoon character The Pink Panther. Artist Jeff Koons was sued for copyright infringement for using the Pink Panther's image without permission, but eventually settled out of court.
- There's a lot of lofty description that can be read online about this porcelain sculpture, from a series unveiled in 1988 called "Banality." I just loved the look on The Pink Panther's face. :)
- We've had so much warmish weather in Atlanta, that the flowering trees are beginning to bloom; shown here at The Atlanta History Center's "Swan House." I'm not sure that's a good thing exactly, but it sure was beautiful on a wet Tuesday.

I wish we had more cultural attractions here. I enjoyed your photos from the art museum. Pink Panther's expression was the first thing I noticed, ha, ha! He looks concerned and worried.
I guess I'm not the only one confused by this weather- all of nature must be! The forecast says we're in for some snow tomorrow!
Did you know that Mariska Hargitay on Law and Order SVU is daughter of Jane Mansfied and Mickey Hargitay? Just thought I would tell that and probably everyone knows it anyway. That statue is intriguing. You have too much fun.
Wow, blooms! I'm calling the moving van right now...
PS--I did not know that about Mariska Hargitay!
Isn't it weird about everything flowering now. I have the same thing here. My Japanese Magnolia is in full bloom and I easy wear shorts and sandals...it's that warm.
I love the expression on the Pink Panther, as well. He looks rather surprised to be in this hug.
Good Lord! That is...wow. And you're right, his expression is priceless.

Yes - concerned and worried is a good way to put it. :)
We hear snow flurries are headed our way Friday, too.
Granny Annie -
I knew Mariska Hargitay is her daughter, but I confess I do not know who Mickey Hargitay is (was.) I doubt if everyone knows that - she's quite beautiful, isn't she?
I have fun, but not nearly enough. :)

The weather down here is awesome, except it's beastly hot in the summer. Africa hot, as the man said in Biloxi Blues. :)
Jayne Mansfield came to my hometown once, but I never heard why exactly. Strange, that.

I'll bet it's beautiful - I love Japanese Magnolias.

I'm thinking he doesn't look all that willing to be in that embrace. :)
Rained like nobody's business last night - what is going on?
The blossom is lovely - and I am with you about the expression on the Pink Panther's face. Priceless. Thank you.
Cool Jayne Mansfield sculpture! I remember her n the Pink Panther too-
The weather here was so warm- almost 60F the other day, I saw flies buzzing by out the window!
Now back to frozen again!
The blooms are very pretty tho-

I don't know, but I am OVER the rain this week. :)
The Elephant's Child -
The poor trees are all confused - it's hovering at the freezing mark this morning, so the blooms will probably go away now.
Snaggle Tooth -
I'm glad you got a brief respite from the cold. And I didn't remember she was in The Pink Panther movie.
WOW!! What a nice house. At first I was thinking it must be the Biltmore (tying into Peter Sellers / Pink Panther,) as they filmed "Being There" there.
I just LOVE modern art, so fanciful.
Have a super-duper weekend, and warm!
xoxoxo
Hi Lynn .. the porcelain sculpture is just amazing and like you the Pink Panther's face says it all ..
Beautiful looking place - and yes cold here too ... cheers Hilary
indeed the look on the pink panther's face is priceless!!
this made me smile!
big hugs~
Jannie -
That's funny - I hadn't made the connection about the similarity of the houses. :)

Priceless, indeed!

I'm glad - I don't get caught up in how many comments I get, but was alarmed when the comments on this one were alarmingly low. I was afraid I had offended someone. :)
I thought the Pink Panther was gay? That would explain his face too. ;)
Joe -
You may have solved the mystery of that sculpture. :)
