Brief encounter, reorganizing the closet and not reorganizing

- That's weekend walking friend Laura's husband Bob there with Macintosh (aka Mac) and Dorrie.  We encountered them on our walk and it was fun to see the looks on their sweet faces when they realized that it was Laura walking toward them.  They were beside themselves, as if they hadn't just seen her in the hour before at home.  :)

- A Saturday afternoon reorganizing of the bedroom closet making it such that I can actually walk in there now.  And the trunk of my car is full of bags of shoes and clothes to take to Goodwill.  A lovely feeling.

- Foregoing the reorganizing of the second bedroom closet on Sunday in lieu of sitting on the couch watching TV and playing Mahjong on the laptop.  A hard rain set in during the late afternoon and it turned to pure bliss.

I don't think there is anything more satisfying than a clean closet. It usually takes a couple episodes of Hoarders to motivate me. Good for you. Enjoy your bliss. :)

Good for you for getting some cleaning done! It really is such a great feeling.

Cleaning out your closet in a much healthier way than Eminem then? :D

I think sitting on the couch is a much better idea than reorganising a closet. :D

Nothing like a rainy afternoon on a day off... the closet can wait...

Our dog Slim simply adores our bil, David. She is all over him with love and kisses but when it is time to go, David will always open the car door and invite Slim to go home with him. She will quickly come and stand by me.

We had to do a lot of emptying cabinets and closets during the construction and I still have not found a new place for a lot of the stuff. I will feel good once it is done and I have already thrown out a LOT.

I am glad you are honoring the time-tested practice of not rushing into the second closet's cleaning.

beautiful dogs! Yes, it is fun when your own pet encounters you on a walk, they seem to be extra thrilled.

And I too love that Goodwill feeling, a win for you and the ones who end up with the stuff.

Hi Lynn .. goods to charity shops helps so much .. all mine goes there ... and then I actually am on my way to sorting paper out! Shock horror - I might be able to see what I'm doing!!

Chilling out is essential at times .. cheers Hilary

It took clearing out my parents' home - not that they were hoarders, but they had so much stuff. And I have way more than I need, so much of it has gone to Goodwill.

Joanne -

It is a great feeling.

Joe -

I don't know about how Eminem did it - I'll have to look that up. :) And me, too.

Melissa -

I'm so into letting it wait. :)

Granny Annie -

That's so cute about Slim. She's your dog for sure.

I have found it easy to box things up and let them go, but it's the odd thing like the boom box that plays only cassettes that I'm having a hard time parting with. Just an example. :)

Jannie -

Extra thrilled is putting it mildly - they were all over her. The dog on the left is a big puppy still - he found me at a dinner party at their house and sat beside me the while time. I must look like a sucker who would give bites.

Hilary -

I've thrown out a lot of paper, too. :)

I was so tired from that big closet cleaning - I felt beaten up by it. There's always next Saturday...

I love it when I have a few bags full of goodies for Goodwill or actual people I know. There's also an organization that provides clothes and toys to tots of teenage moms and I often give them what my kids no longer need or want. The girls earn points (for doing homework, getting good grades, etc) and can "buy" things at the school's store (called "The Stork's Nest") with their points. Very cool.

A walk-in closet! I am jealous.

I love giving things away. Good for you for donating them :)

I love the freedom to do (or not to do) whatever I want on a Saturday. There's always another Saturday to organize the other closet!
The Gain story in your previous post is so touching. My heart goes out to all of our soldiers who must get so homesick at times. (BTW, the makers of Gain would love that story.)

I loved that a rainy day turned into "pure bliss." We should have at least one day of the week described with those words:~)

The nice thing about dogs is they always are ready to share their joy.

Kudos to you for cleaning out your closet. I need to do this so badly, but I'm always seeking the "pure bliss" days:~)

Great looking pair of dogs there- golden n Irish Setters-
Closet cleaning is so ambitious. Wish i had one walkin-able. Mine are tiny. Considering a second closet cleaning? wow- Glad you got to relax a bit-

That sounds like a great organization to give to. My stuff is still in the trunk - it hasn't stopped raining enough to stop by Goodwill.

Riot Kitty -

One of the perks of most condos. :) I am lucky to have such a large closet.

Leonora -

I was kind of forced into this one - I had neglected my own home for so long, in lieu of working at clearing and dispersing items from my parents' home. It's a good feeling to tidy up a bit.

Thank you - the thought had crossed my mind about the Gain company, too.

Sara -

Yes - I love the eternal happiness of most dogs.

I'll try to work Pure Bliss into this week, too. :)

Snaggle -

I'm glad to see you - I had worried about you a little with all that snow.

I'm intrigued about what is actually in the bottom and back of that smaller closet. This Saturday...

I still have some stuff in the trunk of my car - two "disc mans". I hear that Best Buy will give you credit for them, but I might just give them to Goodwill, too.
