The end of it, I liked it and I liked that, too

- When the train was approaching on this trestle, during my Wednesday after-work walk, I got a toot toot from the train engineer; either because I smiled and waved or because they do that anyway.  Either way, I liked it.  By the time I circled around the trail, the train was leaving - this was the end of it, snapped with my phone.  And near the end of my walk, too.

- Enjoying the music on my iPod during that walk.  It's fun walking with friends, too, but I still love a solitary walk, listening to music.  The very energetic song, "I Like It," by Enrique Iglesias came on and the joy of it made me walk faster.

- Having an after-work catch up with friend Leisa on Thursday at a very energetic Irish pub / restaurant, Fado.  Our fries chips arrived with three lovely sauces, red chili aioli, Marie Rose sauce* and American ketchup.  :)  So good.

We are looking at a rainy weekend here in Atlanta.  OK with me - there's always reading and movie watching waiting here at home.  I hope you have a great weekend!

* Same as what we call Thousand Island salad dressing here in the states, I think.  :)

We call that Thousand Island dressing here in Canada, too, but I think Marie Rose sauce sounds much more glamorous and might consequently taste more delicious. :)

Have a fabulous weekend, Lynn!

I love train whistles. They are comforting to me as I grew up near a train track.

Like you, sometimes solitary walks are the best. I don't listen to music, but I love looking around and seeing what there is to see.

We've got rain, as well. On the bright side, I really appreciate the sunny days. I imagine when summer arrives, it will be the opposite:~)

Have a good weekend!

I prefer solitary walks. The silence is so relaxing.

Have a great weekend, Lynn!

A far away whistle
makes one want to cry
Yet a wink from a engineer
doesn't seem too shy

A tone in your ear
sounds running throw your head
It’s good no train hit you
or you would be quite dead

A bit of a catch up with
Friends we all see
Not so sure of the red chili
But the other seem lovely

Once my husband and I were driving on a highway that ran right next to a train track. When we found ourselves keeping pace with the front car of a train, my husband honked his horn twice, and the train driver sounded his whistle twice in reply! It was fun.

Sounds like all kinds of energetic, fun stuff. I love Enrique Iglesias, too.

Solitary walks are a joy.
And there is a romance about trains and ships that I don't feel with other forms of transport.
We have rain today as well. Blessed much needed rain here though other parts of Oz are in flood. Nature doesn't seem to do a happy medium well here.

I bet the engineer saw you n was saying "Hi" - Can you believe I still don't own an Ipod or Mp3 Player? I haven't had fries with dip sauces in ages- I remember Thousand Island dressing. I like to dip in french dressing (Olde Cape Cod brand) plus honey.
Enjoy your week-end! Will you get to watch the Oscars? I have to miss it- n want to see it...

Talon -

I forgot to say that it was an Irish pub - I went back and added that. Hence something like Marie Rose being on the menu. :)

Sara -

I can hear the train whistle from my condo if I listen for it - I'm so used to it that I don't always hear it anymore. I'm about 1.5 miles from the tracks.

There's not a radio station I like anymore, so I love listening to my own mix of tunes on the iPod.

Mama Zen -

It helps me shake off the day.

Ellis -

Did I get a wink? Maybe. And I'm glad it was way high up on that trestle. :) Ha! On the red chili. Thank you for my poem!

Sparkling Red -

I love that story - I'll bet train engineers love that, too.

Riot Kitty -

I started to post the video, but it seemed mildly racy - not like my rated G blog at all. :)

Joanne -

Me, too. And I'm still excited that I saw your picture printed in Cooking Light! Congrats.

The Elephant's Child -

Romance is a good word for it. Love trains and ships, too.

Snaggle -

I've enjoyed mine quite a bit. Yes - I'll watch the Oscars and record the later parts.

Hope you are surviving the latest weather trauma!

Betty -

I'm off to walk in 10 minutes. Love morning walks, too.

Have a great Sunday! xo

I love music when I exercise. Once I almost killed myself when Eye Of The Tiger came on and I was riding my exercise bike. LOL

Granny Annie -

I like to put it on shuffle so that I'm always surprised by the next song that comes up. I've been loading up the iPod with more good music since I'm walking so much again.

Jannie -

It's a good way to shake off ones day or give it a great start!
