- It's 29 degrees here in Atlanta this morning. I just stuck my head out of the front door and apologized to the begonias in this pot. I expect this to be their last stand. I'll buy more in the spring. I never did a thing to the begonias except water them. No fertilizer - nothing. They bloomed and bloomed - they must like that spot. That's Dusty Miller Silverado in the back of the pot - I think it might survive the winter. And the cut back pot of Blue Daze is below. If it comes back in the spring, I'll find a more beautiful pot for it.
- A Cardinal in the parking deck at Emory University Hospital. Friend Norman had heart valve replacement here, so I visited last weekend. I loved the parking deck signs that depict birds indigenous to the area. My memory is bad sometimes - I'll walk away from my car muttering Red C, Red C, Red C to remember where to find it again later. But remembering the Cardinal deck was easy!
It promises to be a cold weekend here, but that's OK - it's supposed to be. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

Wow, 29 in Atlanta and here people are complaining about temps in the 30s! The trees appear beautiful and I am sure they the N GA mountains were wonderful the past few weeks.
Hi Lynn - cooling here, but not that cool yet - I'm pleased to say ..
The begonias look amazing and always amaze me how they last ...
Love the signage at the hospital - makes sense and teaches us something ..
Sorry about your friend's loss of her son - but the maples must make her feel happy in her remembrances ...
Cheers Hilary
I can't think of a memorial I would like more (on so many levels) than trees.
Have a great weekend.
What a clever idea at the car park. I too have problems remembering where I've left my car but this would certainly help me!
I didn't know Emory had those signs in their deck. And yes - we made it with the 26 degree weather this am!
I love the parking reminder. Numbers just aren't enough, you know?
That is really lovely about the trees.
I took my pineapple mint plant inside so it wouldn't croak. The strawberry plants seem to live through anything, though.
Beautiful Fall light in your photos

We're having a heatwave here. World leaders are visiting Brisbane for the G20...Barack Obama amongst them...so they must be feeling it, particularly having to get around dressed in suits all the time. How silly to have to wear suits in this heat!
Hottest November day since 1968 is predicted for today. Needless to say, I won't be out running a marathon! :)
Those are my kind of reminders, Lynn! :)
Hope your friend is on the road to full recovery!
The maples are so glorious. We're only about 4 degrees colder than you today, but it's snowing like crazy here!
It's rare to find any evidence of aesthetics in a parking lot. The cardinal is a nice change from the usual utilitarian blandness.
Pretty trees n great way to remember loved ones. I tend to never read parking row signs- Yep birds are better to remember, more fun! Hope the cold doesn't do in all your garden pots there- here it's very unpredictable what will survive.
