- I am revisiting the mountains and the gardens beside the river this morning. The neighbors next door grew weary of all the rain during July 4th weekend and packed up and left on Saturday. So that Sunday morning, in a break from rain, I walked the garden. It borders my sister and brother-in-law's property, so I didn't feel as I was intruding too much. Love the happy profusion of plants and flowers along this border.
- And the shovel art! Click to enlarge to see the insect-like creature someone made that started with a shovel. The neighbor is a master gardener and as much as we were unhappy that someone built a house on that corner property, we do love seeing all the flowers.

Greek Salad with Lemon and Oregano from the
Smitten Kitchen. I adore making this salad and will make it again this weekend - I bought the stuff last night. And I used Vidalia onion instead of purple onion, because I like it. If you click on the red Smitten Kitchen link above, you can read her happy news. It made me smile this morning.

Strangely here in the UK we've had very little rain in the last few weeks and everything looks very brown, but your photos look the opposite. The plants sure do love the rain!

I love Greek Salad, but it's a bit too chilly here at present for salads...we're in the middle of a cold snap. It's either soup or savoury mince on toast for my lunch today.

That shovel insect is wonderful! As for the salad I like it as is without the feta. So colorful and healthy, which is what attracts me these days. My daughter has me on her non GMO, low-dairy diet, almost-vegetarian diet. It's helping (when I don't cheat).
Reminds me, I have salad to eat. Made it just a little while ago. Romaine, tomatoes, cukes and green onion. Trying to consciously eat more veggies.

Hi Lynn - what a great opportunity and how lovely to see the spade 'scarab' beetle and the little floppy ... lovely art work. Gorgeous salad too ... I can't eat onion .. so that gets left out, but all things of salad nature get made up - I have one every day for lunch. I saw some beets and boiled them up - nothing like fresh beetroot ... last one for lunch today.

Very nice. Looks very quiet and peaceful. The shovel adds a nice touch, as if Mother Nature was saying, "my work here is done."

I am taking a similar salad to our church fellowship dinner today. Mine has regular onions and apple cider vinegar. Will be my first time back to church in months. My son is here to take me since I cannot drive yet.
Ooh, check out the shovel beast. I can just see it loping around the garden on those long, spindly legs.
