- This leg lamp spotted in an antiques shop in Thomasville, Georgia, reminding me of the lamp in one of my favorite movies ever, "A Christmas Story."
- A casual invitation from a client to join an Atlanta womens' club. "I don't know," I ask her, "would I have to wear a hat?" She says that indeed they do have one event during the year in which hats are required.
- Arriving to moderate a meeting, a friend and committee member who knows I don't feel well brings me some vegetable soup. It's for lunch today.

lol! I immediately thought of the same movie when I spied the lamp. It's a holiday staple in our house though we call it the "Red Ryder BB Gun" movie - lol
We wear hats half the year here - but they're toques!
I hope you feel better quickly.
THe leg lamp made me laugh!
That is sweet that your friend brought you soup :)
And I didn't know that women's groups that have required hat meetings still existed!

I love that movie, too. The Turner channel has it looped on Christmas Day to play over and over again all day. We usually just keep it on with the volume down really low and see different parts of it. I like it when the dad reads the word Fragile as Fra-geel-ay.
I just have a cold that is not going away quickly - I'll be all right. :)
Cookie -
Wasn't that sweet - I needed some TLC. We all need that sometimes, right?
Yes - only in the South do they have groups like that where they wear hats. I won't be joining, but am flattered to be asked. :) That's just not me.
Do caps count as hats? I have over 60 of them, you can borrow one if you like? ;)
Joe -
They mean girlie hats, I'm pretty sure. :) Wow - 60 caps! Do you have them displayed?
For years, there was a lamp like that that made an appearance at the yearly office party gift swap. I never got it, darn the luck!
Feel better!
Mama Zen -
That lamp could be yours - you just have to go all the way to South Georgia to get it. :)
Hope you're feeling better! Soup almost always does the trick, especially paired with lounging on the couch.
And the lamp is awesome!
Ahh yes, "A Christmas Story".
TNT's annual tradition of playing that movie all Christmas day.
One of the few movies I still enjoy watching that way.
My brother bought my dad a copy of the lamp from that movie (which we all love in my family, btw.) Guess who didn't let him keep it?!
Kim -
Thank you - I do feel better today. There is so much to do that I just can't stay sick long, but it was fun lounging on the couch for a few hours last night.

I never seem to get tired of that movie. I guess that kid Ralphie is all grown up now. Strange to think of that.
Riot Kitty -
I can guess who didn't let him keep it. :) Too bad he doesn't have a "man room" like my friend Steve to put it in.
Lynn, when my partner was last in the States they bought me several cap racks from Lids. So yes I hang them all on those in the bathroom!
Joey -
Sounds like a great organizational tool and probably looks cool besides!
Yup.
That boy Ralphie made an appearance in the movie "Elf".
G -
I'll have to check out Elf - I didn't see it.
So you don't wear hats 'cus they wreck the hair?
Snaggle -
Hats wreck the hair. And I don't think I look good in them.
Hey Lynn,
Just wanted to personally thank you for the nice comment you left about us over at Lance's Jungle of Life blog.
Also, Kim and I got a chance to actually interview the guy who bought the house where A Christmas Story was filmed. He bought it on eBay and made the whole thing into a business. Cool.
Anyhoo, I love the idea of looking for 3 good things. It's a foolproof way to keep Adultitis to a minimum. Keep up the great work!
