- These wind chimes that client Rosemary brought back from her recent trip to Indonesia. The dragon's head would bob in the wind - should any wind come through her basement office. Or you can simply pull the string to make that happen.
- I say to the receptionist at the Atlanta Union Mission offices that it always smells like coffee and chocolate when you get off the elevator. She says that is what it is, and would I like some?
- A rendezvous at Exit 185 on I-75 with my sister and brother-in-law as we realize by cellphone that we will be passing each other as they drive south to Macon en route from Virginia, and I drive north from Macon back to Atlanta. Hugs and soup at Shoney's. :)

They certainly are!
Such intricate detail on those chimes - so unique!
Coffee and chocolate - two wonderful scents to greet you! Nice that you could partake if you chose to!
That's a nice way to break up your travels!
I need those chimes for my collection!
Soup, coffee and chocolate?! You are making me hungry!

Rosemary says on her next trip she will get the bird wind chimes. They were only $4 and she was told by her son that she was supposed to negotiate, but she thought that amount was worth it.
Mama Zen -
You should post some photos of your collection sometime. I would love to see them.

The soup at Shoney's was surprisingly good. I hadn't been there in years. The coffee and hot chocolate smells at AUM always makes me want to stop for a mocha latte.
Oh, that rendezvous sounds so warm and delicious.
And I never saw a chime with a dragon that moves! I'm not sure if I'd want a dragon in my basement, even tho they are supposed to be good luck. :)
You are an inspiring volunteer. I hope you got some coffee and chocolate to feed your body as you fed others' spirits!

I don't actually volunteer for the Mission - I print their newsletters and stationery. But I am an advocate for them and we deeply discount their printing. I love to go over there. That is wonderful organization. They not only take in people from the street, but they also rehabilitate. The woman who offered me the coffee was homeless and drug addicted and is now their receptionist and drug free. (I am not talking out of school by telling that - her story has a front page article a few issues ago.) http://www.atlantaunionmission.org/pdf/2008-12%20Newsletter.pdf
I didn't know dragons were good luck - I'll tell Rosemary. :)
Shoney's! Wish we had it here. I remember going there as a kid on trip to visit relatives in Mississippi.

I just looked it up and you are right - Shoney's is just in the south and eastern part of the country. I reminded my sis last night that we always used to love the fried shrimp when we were kids, so that's what she ordered.
Sounds like a great impromptu rendevous! I love when loved ones things click so easily n unexpectedly-
Me, too, Snaggle - and we are all together today. Lovely.
