- Raymond's World Famous Boiled Peanuts at the corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Moreland Avenue in Atlanta. It is a veritable United Nations of things to eat, including boiled peanuts, fruits and vegetables and Boiled Cajun corn on the cob. The Boiled Cajun verbiage is what always catches my eye, but I love the slogan, too.
- Sitting in a delightful friend's office surrounded by a multitude of international objet d'art - dolls, prayer flags, crosses, pottery. She is director of international students for her school and must surely be loved by the students if she is so showered with bright gifts.
- Missing lunch and so proud that I do not give in to the lure of fast food on the way home after lots of meetings. My dinner is three-cheese ravioli on a bed of spring greens drizzled with a lemon-Dijon olive oil dressing. Topped off with shaved Parmesan cheese. So good. And the best thing - feeling so virtuous!

What a dizzying display and I love the "more for less" and I am wondering why there is a vacuum sitting so close...is that for when you get a too much? lol!
What a delicious sounding dinner! It makes being virtuous sound sumptuous!

It's because it is sitting at the corner of a gas station. :) But a good thought for its use. The stand is also just at the point in which you cross over into a very tony and old money neighborhood - Druid Hills. But if you turn right and go up about a mile, there is a very funky and bohemian neighborhood - Little Five Points. It's why I love Atlanta - the diversity.
Yay! Virtuous with food. Are you watching your waistline?
Boiled peanuts, served hot? Umn, umn.
Druid Hills -- why does that make me chuckle? I guess because I envision a bunch of monk-like cloaked little people hobbling through the streets of some old tony neighborhood, mumbling unintelligibles to themsleves.
Yes - I haven't been exercising and it is sure showing up on my waistline. :)
So I mentioned the Driving Miss Daisy movie the other day. The house she lived in was in Druid Hills. A lovely place with a park going down the middle. No Druids in sight! :)
I love that neighborhood where they filmed Driving Miss Daisy, by the way. I used to choose to drive through it on my way to belly dance class, even though it was slightly out of my way.
That dinner sounded delicious, and you should be proud of your virtue :)
Boiled Cajun peanuts... you're making my mouth water!
That all sounds yummy! Did you make the ravioli?

I was on my way to the seminary again and took the scenic route!

No - I got in the refrigerator section of the grocery store. It is good and whole wheat.
Wow, what a crazy-signage eatery. Wonder what they all taste like too- Never tried Cajun anything yet!
Teachers are great present recievers...
Eating healthy has a great reward, good for you!
More Miss Daisy-hood!
I thought Druids were from ancient England, building the StoneHedge n all-
I wondered about the car-vac, too. That place looks awesome. :)
Have a wonderful day, friend.

Cajun boiled corn on the cob must surely be hot and spicy. Maybe I'll stop one day and get some and report back. Boiled peanuts taste like cooked blackeyed peas to me. Not a big fan, but they aren't awful either. :)
I am not sure how that neighborhood got its name - a great one nonetheless.
Sometimes, skipping fast food really does make a normal dinner taste that much better.
Nice job skipping the fast food!
Okay - the air vac AND boiled cajun! So, you can clean your can AND get a hot meal!!

Yep - right in an Exxon parking lot, that place. You could pump gas AND get a snack. :)

That is so true.

Thank you - I am trying to be good. I am on the road so much these days that I end up eating on the fly.
AND you could pump gas. :)
Do you know what happened to Raymond's? May I have a copy of the picture? The stand was empty for a while and has been removed. I miss it and it's charm.
Anyone know what happen to Raymond's World Famous Boiled Peanuts at the corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Moreland Avenue in Atlanta?
