- Friend Barbara G and I attend the holiday tour of homes in Madison, Georgia each year. This is a photo I took last year at one home before I was told I was not supposed to photograph anything. :) - This past Wednesday, I literally was just about to give my credit card number for the tickets to the Saturday tour, as the call came in from the rehab center that they were sending dad to the hospital. "I'll call back," I said, but never did. I thought I would be staying with dad in the hospital over the weekend, but thankfully he went home to be with mom last night - out of the hospital and no more staying at the rehab center. Rehab will come to him.
- And Barb and I are consoling ourselves over missing the Madison tour by going to the Decatur, Georgia Candlelight Tour of Homes this evening. A good kick-off to the holiday season. It will be cold, but dry. Tomorrow would have been colder and raining. It is working out as it is should. It's all good.

Ah! Forbidden photos! ;) I love the pineapple which has always been a traditional hospitality symbol. I bet that place was amazing inside and even though you couldn't photograph it, at least you could experience it.

The candlelight tour sounds so beautiful and the weather will be perfect to set the mood. You're right - things have a way of working out even when it seems at first that they're all wonky.

They had more big winter floral arrangements inside the house and fruit down in the bottom of the vases. Lemons, etc. Pretty cool.

Well, I bet the Decatur homes will be just as lovely, probably even better than Madison! Wilder beyond compare is my guess.

PS The "forbidden photo" reminded me of a story that I can't imagine anyone could read with a straight face.
A few years back, my friend and I went to the Museum of Design, which is a small museum in NYC. One of the exhibits had a bunch of propaganda posters for the military from WWII. One had a cartoon man in uniform holding a condom, and the captain read, "I take one everywhere I take my penis."
We laughed so hard we almost fell over. There was a strict no photo policy, and I even checked the gift shop first to see if I could buy a print, but no dice. I snapped a shot and when the guard came over and found out what we were doing, she started laughing and said, "Go ahead - take a good one!" I will keep that picture as long as I live!

That is a hysterical story! I'm glad the guard didn't get all officious on you and let you take the picture. And can I say - the advice of that soldier works today too! :)

Glad to here that your dad is home and that rehab is coming to him.
Having rehab at home is much better than going to some hospital/therapy center to do it. I think doing it at home would make the person (in this case you dad) feel much more relaxed and motivated.

I took the photo and the outside hostess frowned at me - I wondered why and found out when I got inside and pulled out my camera in there. Oh for pete's sake - only a little photo, right? :)

Yes - it is better for everyone - we did not like that rehab facility very much. He was desperately unhappy there. Thank you for your kind wishes.
The photographer rule is - don't ask if you can, just click until asked to stop-

I always come home from those tours thinking I have too much stuff. The houses all seem so clutter-free. And the I wonder if perhaps someone comes in and stages them. And I like all my clutter really. :)
