R & R, Grace and reflection

- Looking forward to this view for the weekend. The back porch at my sister's vacation home in the mountains of western North Carolina. There are three books already packed in the car that I cannot wait to crack open.

- The house was originally owned by her mother-in-law, a lovely woman who left her stamp all over it. Local pottery, many whimsical touches, books to read if you did not bring your own.

- Memorial Day will be a time to reflect on the past year and look ahead. I hope those of you celebrating this holiday have a wonderful one.

See you guys on Tuesday! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

It is the peaceful place I image in my head when I'm stressed out. The river noise and birds chirping, the occasional walnut falling on the roof. (Startles me every time.)

Thank you and you have a glorious weekend, too!

The air changes a little when I cross the border into North Carolina - a little cooler and the air is sweet. I love it there. Hayesville is in an area that is not too far from Murphy, NC and about an hour away from Franklin.

My grandmother used to say that when they drove to her home place of Elbert County, Georgia, "We just entered heaven!" :)

Looks like you have found a haven and a refuge for some much needed R&R, Lynn, and I hope it has been a beautiful weekend so far, full of new stories and the light refracted on the water. :)

I'll see you back soon. We're on the road again bright and early tomorrow a.m., so I'd better go on and get my butt in bed!
