- A late morning meeting outdoors in Madison, Georgia in which the view from the picnic table was this urn, admired for its happy profusion of vines and flowers.
- Earlier in the morning, returning to work after a couple of days away and the satisfaction of putting my work to rights.
- Still earlier, at 6:45am, one of the tires on my car goes flat just at the end of my condominium driveway. While I am digging in my wallet for the roadside assistance card so I can call it in, an angel appears. A young neighbor I haven't met before pulls up behind me and asks if I need help. I tell her what happened and she springs into action; she knows exactly what to do and makes short work of changing my tire. We exchange names and house numbers before she drives away with her patient blue-eyed baby in tow.

My best friend my senior year in high school could change a flat faster than any guy. Her dad owned a auto repair shop and had her changing tires before she was out of diapers (maybe a stretch). He told her no one should drive a car if they could not at least change a flat. I never have learned to change one Thank God for husbands and Triple A!
If I had my way, our yard would be full of sculpture and tables and benches, etc. But our lawn maintenance guy (aka my spouse) doesn't like anything he has to mow around.
Outdoor meetings are the best. That urn is so lovely!
Angels come in many guises. I'm glad you've made a new friend!
I love that SHE changed your tire!

All the meeting rooms were taken, so that was my idea. It was lovely.
Yes - absolutely - a new friend.

I was alternately grateful and mortified (that I couldn't do it), but really so grateful that she did that for me. And yes - she stopped after two men (one of whom I know very well) drove by with a wave. I guess they thought I was standing at the end of the driveway with my trunk open for the morning air. :)
Wow Lynn, so glad the tire changing episode went well! I'm inept at those kind of things....I never have to change a tire so I would be in a quandary and probably in a sweat too!
lg...
Have a truly great day Lynn!
Granny Annie -
Sorry I didn't comment before - in my head I had already - does that make sense?
I love sculpture like that, too. From the looks of that one, it is an antique.

And I only thought I had roadside assistance with my insurance company - turns out it is only towing reimbursement. So I am getting AAA today. Cheers to the weekend!
Ahh, what an angel indeed. I have certainly had my share of those and always humbled and grateful when one of them saves me.
Glad to hear you are feeling better, and got your work all sorted out, always a great feeling.
Take care!

What a beautiful view to have had for your meeting! It's so creative to have suggested doing it out of doors, Lynn.
I sometimes wonder if I could change a flat tire if I needed to. It's been years since I learned how, and when I don't practice some skill, I typically lose it. :(
Love that your tire-changing angel had a sweet blue-eyed baby in tow. :)
When we were in the States recently an angel came and helped my friend who was struggling with a piece of his car hanging off underneath and this guy just got out of his truck and helped fix it. Wouldn't happen in the UK.
Have a great weekend!
Jannie -
And all she wanted me to do was pay it forward. But I'm taking her some couscous salad next week.

The baby was looked a little like Cindy Lou Who - adorable. And pretty quiet while waiting for supermom to come back. Two angels really.

And I thought people in the UK seemed lovely. That's nice that the guy helped your friend here. I think it is always good to do what you can...
That is sweet that you had a good Samaritan come along!
Good for you getting to your beautiful flower urn meeting! Must be great to have so many outdoor calls-
Glad you're doing better now!
Great person to have as a neighbor!
I've changed tires many times- for some guys who were clueless too! It's all in the knowing how- the first time is the hardest!
There is a Good Samaritan streak in alot of folks lately!
What a cool neighbor with her can-do, kind attitude.
Your picnic area is so lush. I miss that here in the desert.
Riot Kitty -
I am a lucky girl.
Snaggle -
That should probably go on my to do list - actually change a tire.
And I did love my flower urn meeting - it was the bright spot of the day.
Jewel -
So true. And I would miss that is the desert, too, but I'll bet you have a lot of desert beauty around you, too.
Beautiful urn and what a blessing from that angel. Wow!

Thank you for stopping by. Yes - a blessing indeed.
