- Being custom fitted for running shoes at this place, at which I found that feet that used to be 8.5 are now 8.5 and 9, respectively. (How did my left foot get larger? A good question, that, but explains the discomfort of my old shoes.) I like how they have water outside for passing runners / walkers and water for passing pets, too.
- A friend tells me over lunch what a huge appetite her college son has and how he is eating up her paycheck while home for the summer. While we are at lunch, he texts her to bring home more chips and salsa. Although she tells this story with an exasperated smile, it's clear that she loves having him home.
- Looking around the cool coffee house at my urban book group and its members present, a graphic artist, an oncology nurse, a furniture builder (this day), a potter, and me, printer girl, and the unique perspective each person brings to the book discussion. It is also interesting to see what each buys to eat or drink: cupcake, cupcake, nothing, hot tea, latte. I'm the latte, but wanted the cupcake. :)
It's Friiiday!!! Yay! Hope your weekend is good!

I want to be in an urban book group. But, I live in a rural/suburban strip mall wasteland. :(
Stay cool in HotLanta. They are expecting us to hit 103 F today. Booyah.
O.K.~ who brought nothing? Wait...I guess that you don't have to tell! Hope that your weekend, Lynn, is a good one. I think that it is supposed to be a real scorcher!
lg!
You are quite the anthropologist in your people observations! I'm convinced that no two body parts are symmetrical (why would they be?)
yes, food is expensive...MORE, please :)
your group does sound interesting, like blogger pals in real life, LOL

wow - can't believe your foot is a half a size bigger!
I could use better shoes myself. My 1 month old Walmart cheapies are already ripped on the sides. Your foot was prob stimulated with the extra walking. (Or swollen).
Older children are always bottomless pits to fill with goodies n know what they like! My mom always made good food for our return visits too. I'm still wondering how she made the strawberry short-cake cake...
I hope you find more tasty treats even better than cupcakes for your week-end!

I kind of live in an suburban wasteland, too, but that's what I like about living in the Atlanta area - the cool urban stuff is only minutes away.
I actually walked in 98 degree heat yesterday afternoon - I was a melting puddle when I got back to my car. Not loving the heat either.

I went back and edited that just now to say it was held at a coffee house, so one person (who was a cranky pants the whole night anyway) bought nothing. My urban book club meets at coffee houses and we all buy a drink or food item because we should.
My suburban book club is all women of a certain age (including me) and we meet in homes out here in the 'burbs - with wine and baked treats usually. Quite a different vibe, but I love them both.
Riot Kitty -
That was my favorite part of sociology study (I have a minor in that) - observing people.
It still seems weird to have two different size feet, but my walk yesterday went so much better with my size 10 shoes. Yes - size 10. They said I needed to go up an entire size from the bigger size foot.

Exactly - that group does mirror blogger pals in diversity. I love how blogger pals are spread around the world, too. (I'm a little concerned about my blog reader Anne in Oslo - I am sending her a message on facebook.)
Wendy -
Yep. I didn't have much to blog about yesterday - as you can see. :)

I am off this morning to check on the family manor in Milledgeville, Georgia - tongue in cheek on the manor thing. I wish it would sell.
I'll stop by the best bakery on the planet later today. I am the envy of my sisters. :)
I read somewhere that a persons feet get bigger as they get older. And their ears. :D
My daughters are home for the summer, and I think the grocery bill has doubled!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I had to smile at you being the latte, but wanting the cupcake!
Yes,my feet are two different sizes and it is really the pits trying to find a comfortable pair. I usually go with the larger size for that reason.
My grandson starts college in the fall and he is looking forward to food more than he is classes. He keeps talking about all he can get with his meal ticket including snacks too. You would think he has been starving to death at home.
Wish we had a group like that in our area. I can't even find other chicken farmers or goat herders to meet with. Did I ever tell you my son is printer boy...and single?
Your book group sounds very eclectic. Nice that it's not too large, either.

I think my ears remain the same - let's hope anyway. :)

Yeah - I'm trying to stay away from sweets to some extent - if I have sugar too late at night, I can't sleep.
Granny Annie -
I think you did mention him before. I hope he is making a living in this economy - it's tough getting people to print.
Sparkling Red -
The group is bigger, but we had a number of people not show up.
I thought our parts shrink as we age, but maybe that's just a height thing.
My kids snack a lot but are not big meal eaters...but then all that could change once they hit college.
Your book group sounds Interesting and diverse. I need to get back into mine.
Have a great week!! :)

I like being in two book groups - I'm constantly reading now, although it's not always what I'd choose to read for pleasure.
