More images from this past weekend in northern Florida...
- The area around my sister's house has a park-like look to me. So beautiful with its trees dripping with Spanish moss.
- Future son-in-law Brandon, who is a full-time farmer, happily helped my brother-in-law plant crops on long neglected fields on the weekends. Here he was doing some maintenance on them (still on the weekend.) It must be lovely to love ones work so much.
- They have planted corn, peanuts, sunflowers (for my sister), and benne (sesame seeds.)
- Sister and I took a golf cart ride (with baby Monroe) to survey the crops. So different from my usual weekends. I love it down there, but was happy to get back to the city, too.
Happy Wednesday!

I love the look of Spanish moss hanging on the trees. And, driving a golf cart is one of my guilty pleasures. I like it way too much. :)
Hi Lynn .. I can imagine - it must be glorious and if you enjoy the great outdoors and farming and planting - then I can see their love of farm life, whereas city life has its rewards too ..
Stunning lands though ...
Cheers Hilary
I love those trees!
Ooh and aah. Country every time for me. And this looks so very, very beautiful. Thank you.
Nothing says south more than Spanish moss!
What a BEAUTIFUL Setting...! Park Like, Indeed.....it certainly is different from where you live.....And it must be a welcome change to come and visit....! LOVE all those Crops growing...!
That does look like a park. I can't imagine the hard work of farming in all of the heat though!

The acres go on forever there, so they pretty much have to use a golf cart. I always ask to go on a golf cart run when I'm there - their dog thinks he can't run down in the fields without it. :)
Hilary -
It really is beautiful, thank you.
Cheer to you!
Mama Zen -
Me, too. :)
Elephant's Child -
Thank you for coming by - I know you have your hands full right now.

That part of the south, for sure.

My sister was lamenting the sunflowers weren't as beautiful as they had been and Brandon mentioned the ones growing in the lower 40 and she hadn't even been all the way down there.
Riot Kitty -
I can't either and those guys were like kids having fun with the crops last Saturday and Sunday. My nephew Curtis took a turn on the tractor, too.
I can see why you'd love it; it's really pretty. I confess, I love farms, but would be terrible at farming.
It's a rather demanding job and you are right; farmers need to love their work, but growing something has its own rewards, doesn't it? Vegetables and other grown foods taste so much better when fresh from the farm.
It was nice for you to see your family:~)
Such a beautiful place, Lynn. Gorgeous shots, too! What a wonderful place!
That area is very beautiful - and peaceful looking! Love that Spanish Moss. sandie
Such a wonderful time you must have had in that pretty place with your family. A great way to get thru your workweek with such memories. Happy Friday to you!
Thank you for sharing this Lynn:D
