- I won this book on facebook by signing up for online event alerts from Andalusia Farm, the home of the late writer, Flannery O'Connor. When the visitors services manager, Ross, emailed to tell me I won, I mentioned that I grew up a couple of miles away from Andalusia. Turns out he was a "yard man" as a teenager for various people in my parents' neighborhood. Small world.
- Will I ever find a good place in my home to hang this thing? It's some kind of piece of decorative ironwork that I picked up at an antiques store, because I liked the intertwining vine pattern. Right now it graces the top of a stack of magazines, which is fine for now.
You can tell when it's been a quiet week - when I start photographing things around my home. Quiet is good, I think! I hope you have a great weekend!

Lovely still life!
Congratulations on your win.
Quiet is good. Quiet is very good. Remember the Chinese curse 'May you live in interesting times' and relish quiet.
Your bread bowl at top is like my grandmother's. Its rounded bottom was perfect to knead and turn the dough. I can still see my grandmother making bread.
Nice win (and nice ironwork, too). You probably know that Flannery O'Conner's childhood home is here in Savannah and there is writing group that meets there that I've attended a couple of times.
The six degrees of separation occurs so often.
I think that ironwork would look great somewhere on your verandah/porch wall.
Hi Lynn - those oranges .. I can smell them here! The warmth of a freshly picked orange - bliss. Wonderful photos though .. and your iron work is a delight and will be enjoyed when you find its final home. How fun to have that link back to your early life .. Happy Weekend - Hilary
Sadly I am not a big orange fan. I do love apples:-) Isn't there a place on your deck near your angel to hang that ironwork?
Absolutely love oranges, but sadly, my body does not like the natural sugar. Interesting piece of ironwork, I'm sure you'll find just the right spot for it.

Congratulations on winning the book!
I would recommend hanging the ironwork anywhere not over a chair, couch, or bed. Just in case, you know. Safety first. ;-)
If it's not old paint it with colors true
use it as a mid hanger for a plant out
on the porch.
The oranges do look good enough to eat and so they are! Always nice to win something when unexpected. The ironwork could look better is any other color than white, in my opinion. And, quiet is good too.
I've been eating tons of inexpensive oranges this year- they have been tastier, tho small. interesting person history to look up- Places to hang is a big prob for me this year- so much is packed.
I spend my life photographing things around my home, but my life is far from quiet, although I have my moments, which I love. Quiet is good, I think. But a little noise and excitement is good too. :D
