- A fabulous dinner with friends which started out as a Golden Globes viewing party. Wonderful food and the highlight was a dessert of bread pudding made with Krispy Kreme doughnuts with butter rum sauce.
- Driving a fellow committee member home from a meeting and finding we live on the same street and have for years.
- Feeling a bit wistful at leaving a warm house and having to scrape ice off the windshield in 29 degree weather at 6:30am. But remembering how many people I know who are out of work. And remembering what that is like, it is my one-year anniversary week at my current job.

Home away from home, rumble and wisdom
- This cubicle that is home for nine hours a day. I made it my own by adding family photos, a plant that has been with me at three jobs now and colorful things. My company printed the Les Misérables poster and I hung it up as my own private joke for when things get a little too tightly wound.
- The rumble of the die-cutter beyond the wall behind my cubicle, sounding like a large cat's purr.
- Whitney's beautiful post about her life in Belfast and a young boy's prayer to "help us to treat other people as God's good creation."

Comfort, eureka and tea in the morning
- Due to budget cuts a few co-workers have been laid off. I will miss Robert the most - a lovely man. One day last week he wasn't feeling well and I made him a cup of red tea. I was happy to do that for someone who always made my day easier.
- My fondest memory of Rita was from the day a bird flew into the warehouse. I could hear chirping from the bird and from Rita, who had made a trail of popcorn through the warehouse to the loading dock door in the hopes the bird would spot the popcorn, want to eat it and Eureka! see the light and fly out to freedom.
- I am thankful for my electric teapot given to me by friend Leisa. It makes every morning a little better for being able to heat up hot water for tea right in my cubicle.

Girls just want to have fun
- The pink jellybeans from baby Isabella's shower surfaced in my purse. I gave them to Peggy at the eye doctor's office because she is so sweet.
- An unexpected offer came yesterday. An answer to my prayer?
- Girls' Night Out at the antique mall with Barb. I bought a bejeweled bird charm to hang from the rear view mirror of my car so I can spot it easily.
