- Walking into work after a morning that got off to a rocky start* and stopping by the operations manager's office to say good morning. She smiles and hands me a gift wrapped in tissue paper - something she saw that made her think of me. It was this mug with a verse from the Bible - Psalm 103:5. She said, "This seems so much like you, how you throw your arms up when you're excited and your happy life." A little astounded, I ask her if she knows I write a blog with "Good Things" in the title. She doesn't, which makes it even more astounding.
- A call from friend Leisa making sure I am not sick since I didn't post on Tuesday, leading to a lovely lunch meet up at Highland Bakery in Buckhead. A drippy grilled Vermont cheddar cheese sandwich on rosemary garlic bread with avocado and good catching up.
- An afternoon appointment at the Mission and two ladies chatting out front. "Did you enjoy your weekend at your daughter's?" "Yes, I did and she did all the cooking, except they did want me to make my peach cobbler. So I made a big pan of it." Yummmm. Just the thought of it...
* All is OK - I just wasn't feeling well. I have to say - for a day that didn't start out well, it sure turned out OK. :)

It's those unexpected gestures/surprises that can really brighten up an otherwise dreary day.
Well that gift was perfect. How uncanny that she didn't know about your blog title and content.
I would switch off a blog post for that drippy sandwich any day.
Okay now you're really mean. Yummy peach cobbler. Oh I want some too!
Happy for your good day where good things happened:)
How cool about the mug! And the food all sounds yum.
Sorry, can't stay...I have poems to slave over. ;-)
"...drippy grilled Vermont cheddar cheese sandwich on rosemary garlic bread..."
O.K.
Can I have that?????!
I so want that.
I think the stars are lined up Just Right for Good Things to come into your life. Wanna go to Vegas?
I love how when you put good energy and thought and intentions into the world, it bounces back to you! That's so neat about the mug, Lynn! I've missed your lovely posts - and your tummy-rumbling delicious food descriptions! :)

I know! I loved the mug. So sweet of her.
Granny Annie -
I just keep my blog separate from work friends and family, so I was so astounded that she chose that for me.
The fresh peaches are so good right now, I could just imagine how luscious that was. Sorry! :)

I have never been to Vegas (except the airport - long story) - I wonder if I'd be lucky. Hmmm.

What a great Mug for you! Amazing!
Sounds like a mouth-watering grilled cheeze again! The bread sounds wonderful.
I wonder if she used canned peaches for that? I have a recipe for cobbler dough somewhere...
You always get my appetite revved up!

Oh I hope she didn't use canned peaches - that would just be a crime with all the abundance of fresh peaches around Georgia right now.
And yes - that was a pretty delish sandwich. :)
