Conspirators, prom queen at last and a good thing

- Spending the weekend with my father while mom is in the hospital. We are conspirators when it comes to food - at one point an ad for Krystal Hamburgers comes on TV, advertising a value meal. Discussion ensues. Fresh, Hot, Small, Square! They sure were good.

- My sister tells me of attending a neighborhood clubhouse party Saturday evening in which the only room for her in a neighbor's convertible was perching on the top of the back seat. She says she felt like a prom queen in a parade and can now cross that off her list.

- A co-worker's enthusiasm while recounting a weekend visit to a new billiard hall near his home, in which the grand opening event was watching professionals play. He begins telling me about it and stops himself, "You probably don't follow women's professional billiards, do you?" Why no, I don't, but certainly hearing how much fun it was for him makes it a good thing.

Lynn, I hope your Mom is home and well soon.

I can see your sister waving regally!

I love when someone is telling me about something they love. Like you, it doesn't matter whether I the activity or not because the way they light up is wonderful.

I hope so, too. We are obnoxiously ever present visitors at the hospital. :)

Yes - it is so wonderful to see someone light up with enthusiasm. I got a kick out of hearing about it.

Yes nothing more appealing than listening to someone talking about something they love, even if I have no interest in it at all.

Cool mug. I hope your Mom gets better soon.

Sending best wishes to your Mom!

When I grow up, I'm going to become a professional pool player and have an awesome stick name like Snake Venom Sally. Or, you know, something like that.

I had no idea there was professional woman's billards!

Perhaps you would enjoy an exciting recap of last seasons Michigans Horseshoe Finals?

Curling? Do you like curling?

Everyone -

Thank you for the good wishes for my mom - I will tell her. She'll like that.

Joe -

I think you can learn so much from other people - just hearing about something new is pretty cool, I think. :)

Mama Zen (aka Snake Venom Sally) -

That made me laugh out loud! I like that name. And Billy rattled off the names of the competing women, but I don't remember. They were of that same ilk though.

Cookie -

Yes - a new one on me, too. If you are interested: http://www.wpba.com/cms/

Oh Galen -

Horseshoes! They have that at Michigan? Seriously - my friend Tim and his buds have serious backyard horseshoe competitions. And my brother-in-law just moved his horseshoe pit so it will be in the shade.

Curling. I do like to watch it in the Olympics, but can't think why that would be a sport exactly.

We have Whataburger here. Do you?

Womens' professional billiards actually is my secret passion.

Lynn said...

Jannie -

I see the Whataburgers in Florida, but not in Georgia.

Then you need a good name like Snake Venom Sally like Mama Zen picked out. :) Hmmm - what would a good one be?

I was Googling the (past) slogan for Krystal and your blog came up first! Dad and I ended up getting the double cheese Krystals. Oh yum!

Hey Foodie Buddha -

I am enjoying your blog! What a coincidence that you are in Atlanta. :) I commented on Celia's post the other day.
