Almost forgotten, rain and sofa time and parm

- These dark red beauties were purchased more than a week ago and had gotten pushed to the back of the refrigerator. They look so pretty in my pottery colander and they are sweet and luscious.

- A discussion with coworker Joanne - is that loud rumbling noise the recycling bins being pushed to the loading dock door, or thunder? I hope it is thunder and it is. Rain and sofa time at home ensue.

- Writing down the ingredients for Eggplant Parmesan - a recipe spotted on the Cooking Light website. I missed the Eggplant Parm at the hot food bar at the natural foods grocery this week - they ran out before I got there. So I'll just make it myself this weekend - as it should be anyway. Referring to it as "parm" makes me feel so Carmela Soprano!

Looking forward to cooking and sofa time this weekend - maybe a little movie watching, too. Hope you have a great one, too!

Cherries!

Had a co-worker who would always buy them and bring them to work, no matter if they were in season or out of season.

You must check out my Peachy post. I have the BEST eggplant parm recipe there. That reminds me, I have cherries in the crisper. :)

Doesn't that sound good - I'm looking forward to making that.

I grabbed a double handful to bring to work today. They are sooo good.

I had a look at it just now - it looks approximately the same as the one I printed out from Cooking Light.

Cherries in the crisper - that made my mind go to Cherry Crisp. Yum.

I love big fat juicy cherries and they always remind me of the Witches Of Eastwick. I had some in my fridge but, alas, I gobbled them up with gusto. they are sooooo expensive. We have an eggplant also that I am debating how to prepare.

Time on the couch sounds lovely! Wish me luck...we are getting a visit from the GRQ. I'll e-mail you the meaning of that.

Granny Annie -

I saw that film, but I don't remember the thing about cherries - I'll have to watch that again.

Joe -

Oh my - I hope you get some peace and quiet before that.

Cloudia -

So far, it is. :)

Hang in there with the GRQ - she sounds like a piece of work!

Mmmmm, those cherries look fab. I can't wait until they come more fully into season. I haven't seen many at the grocery store yet.

I usually get the frozen eggplants from Sam's Club and add sauce and cheese to it and just bake it...comes out delicious! Hope you enjoyed yours!

Those cherries look refreshing, btw! Love them!!

Sparkling Red -

These came from Yakima, Washington - it had one of those codes you can scan with your smartphone. So I did it and that came up. :)

I'll have to look for the frozen eggplant - that would have been easier.

I love fresh cherries. Haven't bought any this season yet. Rain is good when you need relaxing time, n hopefully cooled it down some too.
I prefer Chicken Parm which I made all last week using breaded chicken tenderloins that were on sale $3, hunts Tomatoe sauce, Mozzerella cheeze n a side of Linguine. Can't believe I didn't have time to get here all week- Hope your week-end went well!

It's a good thing the cherries last so well - I'm bringing them to work as a snack still. So good.
