Rain, no arm twisting here and no regrets

- It's Random Photo Thursday and this depiction of a rainy night in midtown Atlanta is what I am hoping for the day: a rainy day and rainy night. So far, so good - I woke hearing rain and a little thunder off in the distance.

- Someone's birthday inspired a red velvet cake put out at work to share. Oh twist my arm! One taste and I knew it came from Henri's Bakery - real butter and cream cheese in the icing.

- A big fail on sticking with the vegetarian diet for the day by ending up at dinner with an entree advertising itself as Asiago Peppercorn steak. No regrets. :)

The cake sounds so good. I'm craving something sweet. The rain pic of Atlanta is gloomy, as it should be. And what the heck are you thinking? Vegetarian? mmmm, steak.

Hey Lynn! I'm glad that I could stop on by and really liked the photos of the downtown high rises in the morning light and the rain! I am 'swamped' in work right now (setting up an apartment for my father-in-law at our house and my mother is coming to visit. I fear that i may never get back on line!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love ya! :-)

P.S. Eat beans if you are trying to go veggie!!! They have a way of filling you up like meat! My husband is a veggie for about 40 years! He cooks all veggie (for himself) so i have learned allot.

It's the first red meat I've had in a long time - I can't think when. It was good. Yes - I try to stick to the vegetarian diet, but don't always succeed. I actually feel a little better when I have some animal or fish protein.

There you are! I was sorry to hear about your mother-in-law and understand exactly how busy you get with the funeral arrangements and the aftermath. That's lovely that you will have family with you. I hope you can find time for yourself. Love you, too, my friend. xo And yes, I am quite familiar with the beans and rice thing - I was macrobiotic for a few years (and suddenly I was over it), but I do follow a semi-veggie diet now still.)

Hey, Blogger -- I mean Google-Blogger. Will you let me post this?...

Thank you, Blogger!!

A little meat is just what your body orders once in a while, I think, Lynn.

I feel cooler just hearing about rain. Enjoy it!

xoxo

Jannie -

So there are posting issues this week on Blogger? My comments have been down, but I figured it was just because everyone is busy.

It was a cooler day here yesterday - still humid, but rainy and overcast all day. A lovely break.

And it was at a chain restaurant - Applebees. Really pretty good.

So a test? Hmmm. I love a good grilled steak. Yum.

I like Applebee's.

Me, too - I just don't think to go there - it's off the beaten path for me. The back story on that - my friend Pat's sister died of ovarian cancer the last week of June. The funeral visitation was that Friday and the funeral was on Saturday. I couldn't go to either because my family was gathering down in north Florida that weekend. So I talked to her on the phone and shed a couple of tears with her there. Her sister Marguerite was a great gal.

I suggested we go to dinner soon and she suggested Applebees - they had found an Applebees gift card in Marguerite's purse. So we had dinner on Marguerite - Pat said she would have liked that. This story was a little too long for a good thing on my blog, but not for comments. :) Thanks for giving me the opportunity, FB.

We have rumbling sounds and rainy looking skies but not a drop...not a single drop of much needed moisture to end this drought. Mother Nature has a nasty sense of humor.

Granny Annie -

I want you to get some rain - that's terrible that you've had to go through such a drought AND such hot weather.

We've been getting alot of showers with the humidity all week here. Hope you get enough water for the green things this summer!
Bet the cake was scrumptious. Have had that homemade frosting, but never had red velvet cake yet. I miss good steak myself.
