Assertive, smiling in spite of... and charm

- This assertive little guy standing alone beside building 1 at the condos.

- Attending an "Art-B-Que" at which there was art for sale, barbeque and music on a breezy, not-too-hot Saturday. One smiling woman's booth is positioned just next to a band playing extremely loud heavy metal music. She tells us she will lose her mind if they do not stop soon. An interesting mix, looking at her hearts and birds artwork with grinding music in the background.

- Book group at friend Pat's home had a good discussion of the book, "Run" by Ann Patchett. Pat served wine in beautiful antique wine glasses, none of them matching. The glasses are from her recently deceased mother's estate. She brought them home because of their eclectic charm.

Oh, that poor woman stuck by the heavy metal band!

I know - it drove us from the area. We went around the corner to have lunch - when we came back there was lovely acoustic bluegrass music.

I love those little pockets of beauty we find...

Sounds like the organizers didn't really mesh the artwork with the music. Poor woman!

There's something extra beautiful about antique stemware.

Talon - I know - I kept driving by the little flower up on the incline and just had to photograph it.

Pat's mother had exquisite taste and was just a lovely woman. It was nice to look around and see the beautiful stemware - all different - that everyone was holding.

I love the flower's spunky spirit.

I listen to one heavy metal song a decade. Actually, I kinda like Metallica, one song a year.

I love mis-matched glasses. That's all I have.

Jannie - I know. It looks like it is waving to everyone.

I don't like that metal, but think it is OK if others do. Your music would have been perfect for that day!

This has inspired me to look for the old wine goblets like the ones from last night and start a mismatched collection.

I always start out with a set of at least four glasses and end up with one which is probably how these antique glasses ending up going solo - lol!
