Open happiness, lovely and delight

- Untypical view of the skyline of Atlanta from the parking deck of Georgia Public Broadcasting. Can you spot the world headquarters for Coca Cola? Or as spotted on a billboard this morning "open happiness?"

- The guard at GPB, where I do twice-weekly volunteer work, must be the happiest man in the world. With his lovely island accent, he always says with a smile, "See you in about two hours!"

- Reading a review of David Lebovitz's new book, "The Sweet Life in Paris" in the New York Times Book Review. The reviewer says that blogger books about food are becoming more and more difficult to categorize, "Are they cookbooks, or book-books?" David's blog is always a delight to read (see it linked to the right), but he is actually a pastry chef, as well as a food blogger. Because of a luscious sounding brownie recipe, the reviewer concludes that this one can be "shelved as a cookbook."

Did you say Pastry Chef ?!? I am afraid all else in this post is now forgotten except for that tidbit.

No, actually that picture is great, that really stands out.

Hey Jannie! - he once worked at Chez Panisse in San Francisco as Alice Waters's pastry chef. He later moved to Paris permanently. I love to read about his adventures in Paris on his blog, but also his recipes that make me go YUM!

I don't think Coca Cola will ever have a better slogan than "the real thing" - lol!

Isn't it great to see happy people? It's infectious!

Wow - how the world has opened up since the advent of the internet. I'll have to remember that - insert recipe in novel and now you can be shelved in two places - lol!

Hi Talon. I also liked the "pause that refreshes." Open Happiness sounds like forced advertising agency brainstorming to me. But I kind of like it anyway.

This guy is always smiling. His partner next to him is very dour. They make a funny pair.

This is true. I thought that was funny, too!

have a coke and a smile!

I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...

Any other good ones I've missed?

I loved that commercial with I'd love to teach the world to sing...

It is fun to go to the World of Coke museum here - they let you taste coca cola products from all over the world.

I'm a diet coke girl, myself.

Oh oh - I'm a Pepsi gal (when I have soda or "pop" as we call it in Canada). My favorite soda is A&W rootbeer. Makes the perfect ice cream float. Yeah,I'm a sugar lady when I get the chance - lol!

Talon - Yeah - I am a sugar gal, too, but cut out cokes several years ago when I was drinking too many and it made me gain weight. When diet coke came out, it was like DREAM COME TRUE! Now I prefer it.

But still love the brownies, m&ms, etc....
