Peach shake, healthy note and glimpse

- These cowz peeking out of my purse that were encouraging me to stop by Chick-fil-A for a free hand-spun fresh peach milkshake. As yummy as expected, but at 850 calories probably the last time. :) Chick-fil-A is another Atlanta-based company and has quite the entertaining ads.

- On a more healthy note: finally making Chef Rocco DiSpirito's miso-orange marmalade salmon. For two pieces of salmon, mix together 1/4 cup of miso, 1/4 cup of orange marmalade (preferably English) and 1/8 cup of lemon juice. Slather it on the salmon fillets and pop them in the toaster oven to broil 10-12 minutes, or until you see a little char. So good!

- Always enjoying glimpses of niece Amanda's job as office manager for a large plantation in the Florida panhandle. Today she is handling the sale of cows. Oh poor cows - maybe they should volunteer for Chick-fil-A commercials.

Kelly had the hand-spun peach shake. I usually don't like fruit flavored anything in ice cream, but I actualy really liked it. And I like that they now have small size shakes.

Will totally try that salmon!

Jannie - the salmon was great and easy. I liked his suggestion of putting it in the toaster oven, since it doesn't heat up the kitchen like the big one. I used red miso, but I think I might try white miso next time for a more subtle taste.

A peach milkshake sounds divine!

Mama Zen - It was divine - but I shouldn't have had the whole thing. I thought I needed to go lie down when I was done with it. :)

Love peaches, but not sure I'd love a peach shake - I'm a chocolate shake girl.

That salmon sounds delicious!

Poor cows! I wonder if an audition process would be any less stressful - lol!

Talon - so I'm thinking there is no Chick-fil-A in Canada. It started out as a little restaurant here in the Atlanta suburbs called the Dwarf House and now has gotten huge. The founder said he never wanted the restaurants to be open on Sunday and he has stuck to that. The milkshake came from a project pitched by high school business students and they adopted it! How great is that?

But I am like you - love the chocolate the best.

The cows are quite entertaining - I have to say. They even have a huge one at the stadium the Atlanta Braves play in that waves his arm up and down when they have a home run. :)

We love the plyscape area at our local Chick Filet. Lynn, it's just 10 minutes from our house!! We actually have a lot of cool shopping just 10 minutes from our house. The Hill Country Galleria is one such place, in the other direction.

Did you notice the shakes in smaller size now?

Jannie - Actually that is the first one I have ever had. I got the size that was free with that coupon, so I didn't notice the different sizes. I was chagrined to find out that I had to buy a meal to get the free shake, so it was a rare thing for me to eat fast food followed by a milkshake. Oh my - but I felt ill after that. A fond memory, but never again. :)

Oh, you had to BUY a meal. Bummer.

Oh well...
